Great review. Been waiting for this. Thanks for letting me know this is an essential purchase for someone who loved the first game and Metroidvanias in general
Awesome review and great to hear the news. I thought Ender Lillies was a "Mehtroidvania" personally, overhyped and frustrating with bosses that just didnt know when to die. I played the demo of Ender Magnolia a while back and thought it was better than all of Ender Lillies. If I give Lillies another chance, it wont be for a while due to a big backlog, but Magnolia might have to be a day one buy for me
Ender Lilies is one of my favorite metroidvanias and indie games, so I have high expectations for Ender Magnolia and it's great to find out that I won't be disappointed. This sounds like it is everything I would desire in a sequel to such a classic game and I'm very eager to play it. Ender Magnolia is one of my most anticipated games this year and it will be a nice way to start my indie playlist for 2025.
Considering Ender Lilies' performance and Magnolia's Steam system requirements (Im waiting for the full release to play it) I feel fairly confident in saying both could hit 60fps on a low end PC from 10+ years ago so you shouldnt worry about performance in either 8th or 9th gen consoles
@Gante_Gato Thank you for answering. Because I notice in the pre purchase there are two editions of Ender Magnolia, one for ps4 and one for ps5. Which is strange because always when I buy MV I get both at the same time. And I play the ps4, my son has the ps5 😅
@@Dekraa With any game in playstation, you get both versions when you buy either one, though the Ps4 can only play the Ps4 version (the Ps5 can of course play both). It matters on some more demanding games, and Ps4 game sizes tend to be a whole chunk smaller, but in this case I honestly don't really know why they bothered separating it. Maybe 4K support, since I don't think Ps4 does that?
Thats my point, I will purchase the pre purchase now, with just 5 hours to go, if I knew I would get both editions when it is released. But as it is now, it looks like two seperate. I cant find any information about this sadly 🫤
Playig through Ender Lilies was a deeply moving experience for me. I loved it and it made me "feel" for the characters in a game in a way I hadn't felt since playing Soul Reaver 2 for the first time: the characters are doomed, but the gameplay and atmosphere, along with the lore you experience the further you play, treat you to such an incredible work of art. When I first saw the trailer for this sequel, I gasped. Can't wait to try it out once it drops on Switch.
Good thoughtful review. Ender Lilies is one of my all-time favorites so i have been chomping at the bit to play the sequel. I got it, played it for one hour in Early Access just to get a taste earlier this month, and I can't wait to dive deep into the 1.0 release. THIS is my Silksong.
It's probably just me but Lilac's design REALLY annoys me. The whole game aesthetic is 90% souls/dark fantasy and 10% anime, but she is 110% anime/bloodstained (the game). It just.. really.. really doesn't fit. The game looks dope as hell, though.
@@IDreamofIndie Hehe thanks, appreciate the review, as always! There are so many good metroidvanias these days, but it's always a joy to see another one.
i loved the first game. hoping they didn't ruin this game by making it too "accessible". most aaa devs already make games overly easy now to attenpt to draw in more people, which is why i love indie devs now. if indie devs start doing the same now it'll be really annoying. speaking of annoying, that machine gun ability going off the entire time through the 2 reviews i've seen of this game is really annoying already before even playing the game. really hope not using it is an option because i would gladly add some more challenge to the game by turning off that stupid ability. not only is it annoying, it just doesn't seem to fit the theme. it would be like playing a medieval game but the main character oddly has a machine gun abilty that automatically goes off every time an enemy is in sight, it's just stupid. i already pre-ordered the game but the 2 reviews i've seen have me a lot less excited than i was when i first saw this game was coming. i've been playing nine sols and loving it, and i'm not expecting to have nearly as much fun with magnolia.

Thank you for the kind words and watching :)
With 250 hours on Ender Lilies and have played EA of Magnolia, i could not be more excited 🎉
😎😎😎
Super excited for Ender Magnolia!
I thought the first game was superb, as good as Hollow Knight (i.e. S tier). 😎
So good!

That's great that this release feels more your speed :)
I preordered the physical from playasia. This game looks amazing.

Really curious how this one is connected to Lilies.
Not much longer to find out!
How is the performance on PS4? Is it 60fps? Is there any difference between PS5 and PS4 versions?
I sadly didn't play that version of the game but I can say it was running at something like 500fps lol, I would imagine a PS5 should have no issues.

Well thank you so kindly you made our day 💜💜
Man. The new Jojo's Bizarre Adventure game looks awesome. Glad they didn't just make another dime-a-dozen arena fighter.
Nice!
Thanks for the review. I enjoyed Ender Lillies but wanted to see how the full version of Ender Magnolia turned out before buying it.
Happy to help :)
Zen experience? That's what I love to hear.
Enjoy 😊
Customised difficulty setting, ehh? Now your talking!
Love it!
Still in early access ?
Nope it is leaving, hence the review!
It releases tomorrow
So excited for this

great review, is the difficulty changeable at all points? and is there some kind of challenging postgame?
Yes you can change the difficulty at any time at rest points. Without spoiling you will have reasons to play again :)
I'm going to get this the second I get paid on Friday.
Sounds like an awesome payday!
