I was born in Houston in '59. After 51 years of living there, I left 10 years ago. The uptick in crime was a major reason.

@@feliciaboston6365 I’m in the suburbs and the crime is oozing in those cities as well. Just fyi. I had to move bc I later found out I was in a trafficking ring. I was like the black sheep about to go missing had I stayed. Move in areas where it’s populated I’ve noticed crime is low in those areas.
Crime was severely worse in the 80’s…There was 800 murders in 87 i believe
After midnight? The other night I was coming home through Houston around 11p and someone was driving the opposite direction in the same lane as me with their headlights off. I flashed my brights but they still kept driving right at me. If I hadn’t swerved than me and this crazy person driving would’ve been in a head on collision. Another time I was coming back from a friends place really late and some random dude with tats on his face was honking his horn and rolled his window down and stuck his tongue out at me.
People are really crazy out in H-town regardless of what time it is. That’s why I keep telling my parents to strap up, but they never listen…
Face tats are great, why are you so bigoted! Hate breeds violence. Let him babysit your kids you will likely find out it is all good, and you are worried about nothing. go with Jesus not the fear of satan. And the headlight thing sounds exaggerated too. Crime is way down.

It was a shock when I left my country to live in Houston, I was disappointed that people who commit murder or have a lengthy criminal record can still roam amongst the public and you can still drive a car after being caught once, twice, even 3 times for a DWI. None of this is allowed in my country and you can roam parks late at night with food vendors all over and malls that are open until midnight.
Nothing good happens after midnight.

I've dealt with many police treating people like crap and not doing the job correctly.

It’s apparent that traditional law making & enforcement is flawed. When you are constantly creating criminal statutes annually for things that used to be lawful, you are creating a new demographic of criminals. More and more special interest groups are influencing laws. People aren’t afraid of doing time prison, therefore you can’t stop the violence. You have gangs running the prison system and more people sympathize with incarcerated individuals. We have to take a step back and revamp judicial system across the country.
this is what happens when you kick Jesus out of the lives of people in cities. Deny it all you want, but people have become more and more lawless over time....and over time people have rejected Jesus and hated Jesus more and more. The result is living in FEAR...what kind of life is that?
They will try this and that, proposing this and that solution...but it will never work. We will not solve this without Jesus so We get what we deserve.
Now it all comes down to what are you going to do about yourself and your own family.

All this fear mongering just does not align with what I see and experience every day. I ride metro after work at night; I have to wait downtown and I have to walk ten minutes from the stop to my house in magnolia park. I never have any issues. I don’t know of anyone who has had any issues. Be aware of your surroundings, don’t be flashy or make yourself a target and mind your own business and you should be fine
All of this is just to make people afraid so they’ll give the police unlimited money and willingly sit back as we become a police state.
The wicked will not go unpunished, but those who are righteous will go free.
