I don't even think he touched it , maybe a Slight brush to NOT EVEN TAKE AWAY HIS VINYL WRAP, and they screwed Alex Bowman baddly, within 2 Laps he would of been 10th with his newer tires. Instead he had to do a drive around and race 20th place cars on New tires. And again got passed with 3 feet at the end of stage 2. I've never seen anyone with that kind of bad luck or Nascar just putting the boot to him. ( Again HE WON THE DAYTONA 500, BUT THEY gave it to willy B, because he was in the 24 car. The only gripe you have that's legitimate is Hamlin jumping the start. Larson getting spun was a legitimate caution. Maybe not at an intermediate, but at a short track, it was the correct call. And as for pitting? Staying out would've been a death sentence. Tires mean everything at Richmond. Had he stayed out, he would've finished last on the lead lap. And that's assuming he didn't get run over like Reddick did at Bristol.

Due to time zones and other things, I thought the race started at 7 PM my time. I tuned in several laps before the KB caution. I saw Truex struggle all last playoffs. Truex has not been getting many lucky bounces, but he's fighting his way to a top 3 overall points position. Seeing him lead for half the race was satisfying. Instead of nascar telling teams when they can run rain or slicks let the crew cheifs decide because that adds to the strategy that fans love to see. And nascar needs to stop throwing comp yellows forcing cautions to change tires because that's whst the officials seem fit in the moment. Let the race run it's natural course. Let teams choice to start on dry or wet tires and as the track changes, choice if you want to stay on wets or go to slicks. Put it in the hands of the teams not the officials. Lets be honest, the Larson caution at the end was questionable too. He never hit the wall got it straightened out and kept rolling. Typical for NASCAR manufacturing late race drama which essentially penalized the best performing team and driver last night.

Before overtime existed that's definitely not a caution.

nascar has been using that caution to control a races flow for decades. as for denny, from his point of view looking through the windshield he may have thought he crossed the start line.
