The frustration in Dionna’s voice when she says, “Vinny, stop it!!” pretty much hits hard as if she’s fed up with Vinny always following by Joey T’s example and believing his lies and not thinking for himself.
Leguizamo here plays a typical addict, in this case with sex, who always makes stupid posturing excuses to protect himself from his failures as a husband. Very very awkwardly effective moment.
One of the most hateable main characters in a movie. Glad it ended with her walking out the door. Also glad the movie didn't end with him getting any sort of redemption.
All of the acting in this movie is on point very underrated film. This along with Malcolm X is Spike's best. The authenticity of the era and the choices in music especially for this scene is phenomenal. I can nver hear this song without thinking of this scene that's great film making.
Hard to watch cause I know so many relationships went like this. I love the way they had the disco in the background, but in their reality, their lives are unraveling, Vinny’s world is crumbling, he doesn’t have any control anymore & the song just “fuels the fire” of our emotions. So good.
Mira Sorvino was great in everything she did: MIMIC, MIGHTY APHRODITE, this…I shouldn’t say “was” because I know she’s working, but this was a Golden Age.
I’m gonna cheat on my wife and get caught on purpose. When she confronts me, I’ll tell her that Braden’s antics made me do it and that I’m not responsible. I’d buy that for a dollar.
Having watched this movie many times, I consider it one of Spike Lee's better artistic endeavors. However, its emphasis on the love story and dramas of the main characters makes it feel less about the Son of Sam. Renaming it 'Vinny and His Screwed-Up Life' would be fitting. In my opinion, Vinny is an idiot who let his perversion destroy a good thing, but the movie remains engaging.
That was 46 F bombs in 4.5 minutes. Just an observation. According to Wikipedia, there are 435 F words in the whole movie, and that was the record at the time- 1999.
All the good women I've screwed over in life and now I'm 40 I see the big picture. Love isn't meant for a man like me. I'll always fucc it up. All I have in this world are my beautiful children
This film is madly underrated….it’s a masterpiece.
I saw it at the theater still in my top 5 till this day
I'm glad she left that loser, he was despicable.
He was a piece of shit...he even sold out his best friend to get beat up by the neighborhood idiots

The acting of both of them is so good. Absolutely love this scene!
3:47 By that time, she was done. What a look from her: disgust, exasperation, realization, resolve...all into one. Excellent scene!
She had to leave, he was a manwhore

This scene should be shown in acting classes as both of them kill it

Their acting is off the charts here! Mira is amazing
Awesome layers of tension. They knocked this scene up on fire. And Mira, woo!
Great scene!! The background music feels like a cold case episode
great scene in a very underrated movie
Vinny was too weak to ever keep her.
Hard to watch cause I know so many relationships went like this.

One of my favorite scenes in the movie!!!
Vinny is an impulsive character with low emotional intelligence. John Leguizamo played him so well.
Spike Lee did an amazing job directing this one
He has abused her and she respected herself enough to leave her abuser behind.
yep, sometimes it takes a long time.
That's rear because most women are stupid enough to stay
He didn’t abuse her! He cheated on her, that’s abuse?
@@Ishbikes That is very much a form of abuse. That is emotional abuse.
Didn't he slap her in the car
scene brings me to tears every time. one of the realest break up scenes, imo, ever enacted. classic movie
Fuckin' Fuckin', I'm Fuckin' Fuckin'
I'm from New York and agree that's how we speak a lot of the times

This scene was so emotional for me cause they had such good chemistry and yet he couldn’t help himself and still loved the girl to death.
If Vinny caught HIV years later yeah he definitely love her to death.
@@sitdowndogbreath oh
I could’ve watched a whole film just focused on their relationship alone. Great acting from John and Mira ❤
i could watch scenes from this movie all day..mira sorvino is so hot too!
Gorgeous
always was. loved her in romy and michele too.
Sad but that’s what happens when you screw the good ones over!
It's human nature f****** sadly
Well done
Such a great film
Vinnie would rather get a root canal without anesthesia then utter a sentence without a cuss word.

That's why u never fight near a window lol......GREAT MOVIE
She had EVERY right to leave, he is a habitual cheater. Even Ritchie tried to warn him about his cheating.
Vinny u don’t jump out the window that’s why she left 😂😂😂
How could you Cheat on Mira Survino Man,
I have a Beautiful Wife like that, I would settle for Good
This is a movie. In real life she would have left for awhile then given him one more chance.
that is today's modern women.

@@Luvie1980 Yes. Do you?
