In Marathwada, we call it shengole. we use only jowar aata, wheat aata n besan. in spices, we use garlic, carrom seeds, cumin seeds, red chilly ppwder turmeric n salt only.

We call it tepeli kodubele in Kalaburgi. It is prepared dry or the way shown. For dry ,you have to steam the kodubeles and then add vaggarani.

Sairam. Its very old stone gifted by my grandmother. Now exact same stone may not be available. You might get in Hubli, Mudhol or in Badami jatre.

Hi, I stay in US ..tried this recipe but unfortunately it turned out bad..I dont know the reason or may be you can tell me if you can think of..naanu idu kodubele maadi bisi neerige haaki coom madake shuru madida 5 mins alli ella kodubele neera alli full melt aagi bittu at the end no kodubele was left n the whole recipe looked like jolada hittina soup..the dough consistency is same like what you made..not sure if the jolada hittu what we get was not good enough? But the recipe is good one..
My mom use to do this quantity little different ...u can try this take 2 bowl of jawar atta nd one bowl of wheat atta nd half bowl channa atta or kadale hittu or besan atta ....nd remaining thing is same.. hmm u add methi sabji it wll turn little good in taste.
Hi Manu. Thanks for trying this recipe :) Any of the following might be the reason for your problem:
1. In case the jowar flour is old, this might happen since it won't have strength ( jigi in kannada).
2. Hittannu gatti naadiralilla andre kodubale odeuva chances irutte
3. Kodubale neeralli hakida thakshana mix maadidre kooda heege aaga babudu.
In case the above points have been followed and yet the problem occured, increase the ratio of the wheat flour.
