Thanks for doing these! I'm just learning to play (primarily due to seeing the guys play Tender Situation at Riot Fest in Denver), and can't thank you enough for doing these videos. I am no where near being able to play it yet, but am working toward it. Is there any way you would consider doing Chocolate Town? Thanks again, you rock!
One trick you can do to make it sound more like the record is to play it muted (combination of palm mute and fingering mute) and keeping a consistent 1-and-2-and-3-and-4-and strumming pattern while mostly strumming down. You strum hard enough on an upstroke in certain parts to have the notes break through the muting. It sounds pretty neat, but this is a lot closer to what they do when they play it live.
Hey, this video is 7 years old so I doubt anyone cares, but you reckon it's G > G7 rather than G > Dm? Love you, your face and your content. Your videos are fantastic.
I don't think it's either. If you look at this performance: ruclips.net/video/mFPixNtk6ao/видео.html you'll see Gener clearly playing a Dm but Deaner is doing something a little different, sort of just looks like 1st fret on the E string with 2-3 open strings (which would be a G7). Basically, I think you can play either, but I don't think I hear the low G or B.
This is, indeed, a tender situation
Thank you SO much for this lesson. I've loved this song since I first heard it on the John Peel Show back in 1992. ❤️
Thank YOU so much for your positivity and kindness!
