Definitely "World Music" and yet for the time also Progressive in it's way. Delerium came about around when Enigma did...very unique style of music for the time just as the classics with Pink Floyd, Led Zep , and what the heck, even Mike Oldfield too in their day.

Nettwerk got complaints from Muslim groups saying that this song was disrespectful or something, since he is singing lines from the Koran, and they had them pull the track from later reissues. glad i have the original double CD!
@@fadedSF It was a mix of Muslims saying it was disrespectful, Christians saying it was Islamic propaganda, and the singer's parents controlling his estate after he died. They were fundamentalists who did not approve if their son being an artist, so sadly he's been unpersoned. Delerium and Nettwerk et al don't acknowledge the song ever existed, really sad.

Nothing to do with religion. This song contained samples that were not entirely legally cleared for use. The song was removed due to licensing issues. It’s replacement does deserve a deeper listen though, it recalls Semantic Spaces but has Karma production values.
@@MirrorMonolith If you listen even closer, you will hear that it has some retro sounds that go back as far as Faces, Forms and Illusions. All in all I don't like Window To Your Heart, for me it is the weakest track on the album.
It is not, but there are some killjoys who appointed themselves the gatekeepers of what is and isn't allowed and they are trying to kill off beauty and art in religion.
Is this song still available anywhere? I bought a copy of Karma (love the whole album) that turned out to be a re-issue but had Koran listed. This song is beautiful.
I bought the original album back in 97 and the last song was Koran. Incredibly deep bass line that only subwoofers can properly reproduce. That CD was eventually stolen along with many others. The last song ‘Koran’ was replaced with the song ‘Till the End of Time on every album after the original release. My guess would be the group likely received death threats and removed the song immediately from the album. Just a guess though…

I think I tracked it down... This was a few years ago when Sony did its own Track ID for its phones... It was a record of Sufi prayers published in Switzerland in the 1970s. The artist is credited as: Doctor Nureddin's Tomb and Mosque Preservation Society [or as sensibly as I could dumb-translate from Arabic]
What is the meaning of Karma, this is not always reap what you sow (bow). The WW1 saying 'they shall not grow old'. Hindi has a different interpretation. Karma in Buddism and so on. Some have never done anything wrong yet suffer.

Delerium is a Canadian new-age ambient electronic musical duo that formed in 1987.
They were Goth-Trance, then they were Sci-Trance, then they went to this World-Trance phase, and then I guess a sort of 'electronic folk'.
