It's to a song called "I am the Antichrist To You" by Kishi Bashi. He did an incredible version of it live with the Nu Deco Ensamble. It was on a Rick & Morty episode and he has had a load of views since. He seems hugely under rated and I'd love to get someone like your opinion on him as well! Nunchucks is my favourite!!! I think Hua Hua is an extreme talented musician. His last Mars concert was amazing, you should check it out. He has massive concerts, I love that he is a fashionista and writes crazy songs. He looks like 15 but I think he is almost in his 30´s. Greetings from México.
When you get to his popular "Fake Monk", it is good to find the one on the Hua Chenyu Eng sub channel with the pre-performance interview where he talks about how his childhood relates to how he interpreted the song. But it might be better to watch the interview after, and not ruin the surprise. Yes, you are pronouncing it right. Something like the Police song that goes "Every breath you take, I'll be Hua Chenyu". He is a master arranger - this was his cover of a rap song.
Yes, I agree with you. There are so many great artists in the world waiting for us to explore. But to my own opinion, Hua Chenyu is one of a kind. He's not like anybody else and there's no one like him. Enjoy your journey!
I never heard of this guy so this was my first time seeing this as well, but my reaction was the same as yours lol. Such an amazingly versatile artist and performer, this performance was like a rollercoaster.

Congratulations you just found my favourite artist, I really wish I spoke Chinese to understand him, but his stage presence is so wonderful I fell in love with his performances, each one is a work of art, and the more you find out about his ability to compose and also very quickly rearrange other works into unique pieces of art is nothing less than incredible. He’s magnificent, isn’t he? I knew you would love him. Now you see why I called him one of the world’s best performers. I see a lot of people recommend “Fake Monk”, and yeah, it’s an amazing cover; he’s so good at rearranging song to fit him. My first encounter with Hua Hua was “Ordinary Path”, also a cover. It made me an instant fan. But personally I think you should check out one of his own songs next, like “Qi Tian”. It’s one of his most beloved songs, and if I remember correctly, no other performance got a higher score on Singer 2018. There’s a music video for it as well, if you prefer that. And several live performances besides the one on Singer. On Singer 2020, he performed almost exclusively his own songs. Especially “Bullfighting” blew people away. That one also has a gorgeous music video. He’s such a great composer, nothing beats his own songs. There’s also a lot of live material available from his huge annual Mars concerts, they’re spectacular and definitely worth checking out.

Watch more and he will continue to amaze you. His concerts are beyond anything I have seen in the West. I recommend watching his live performance of his own song, Qi Tian, on the same show (Singer 2018), as it also combines dramatic switches between slow sections, rap and rock. Hua Chenyu is totally, totally unique and his talent defies description.

Hua Hua (his nickname) is the biggest music artist in China. He is an amazing superstar but is widely unknown in the western world. He is known for his yearly "Mars" concerts (his fans are known as martians) where he regularly sells out stadiums as large as the 90,000 seat birds nest in Beijing. He actually holds the record by selling out 3 consecutive nights at the birds nest in less than 5 minutes. That is less than 5 minutes for all three nights. He was on the 2018 season of "The Singer" as a replacement singer so he started the series at episode 4. He came in second to Jessie J that season but the producers of ""The Singer" found a way to get him back on the show by making their 2020 season all about Asian hit makers. He won the 2020 season and has also been a judge/mentor on quite a few different Chinese music competition shows. Any video clip of him performing on either season of "The Singer" will be a must see video clip. Some of his performances are very good but the others should be on a wall in a museum because they are pure works of art. You have to be careful of copyright claims by the production company but as long as you take precautions (you already do by making the video somewhat transparent) you should be okay. They do understand that it is reaction video's on RUclips of stars like Hua Chenyu that has expanded the reach of their show. There is another show called "The Next" where he is challenged by contestants and he is given 24 hours to remake some awful song into something wonderful. He excels at that and there are some amazing clips on RUclips of the end result after a sleepless 24 hours. Anyway you slice it, you cannot go wrong with Hua Chenyu. No two songs are ever the same but you will always be amazed at just how talented this guy is. Oh, I almost forgot, the girl in the white sitting up front is Angela. She was the host of the show for that season and was also a contestant.

@@seazongrg6033 So it sounds like you are looking for other performances by Hua Chenyu from the 2013 season of Superboy. The show "Superboy" was effectively his debut season in China. The wordless song from his audition for that show is just the beginning and if you have already seen that clip, there are many more. Do a search here on RUclips for "2013 Superboy Hua Chenyu". That should pull up all of the clips here on RUclips including the full episodes for that season (which he did win).
Yay! Hua Chenyu is so good! One of my all time favorite performers. I would suggest like many others, doing Fake Monk next, though you really can't go wrong with any of his performances. Wayfarer, Qi Tian, Bullfighting are all great.
You will never regret to idolized him, his not only a musical genius, but his character as a person is totally heart kinded, very humble, polite, sweet, thoughtful, good son, childish, soft spoken, funny, he loves children and loves animals, he loves to eat specially ice cream, sweets, and meat. For me Hua Chenyu is Artist. I like his creative, passion and energy. I am glad that you want to know more his art, because there is a lot to get to know. I especially recommend his compositions. For me, he hasn't had any bad performances so far and he's already working some time in the entertainment business in China.

Thank you for reacting to this song. This was the first song I heard of his songs. This is one of his songs on the 2018 Singer competition. "Equal to Heaven" (English Translation) in Singer 2018 Episode 4.. I think you would also enjoy "Fake Monk" which definitely need the English subtitles to truly get the maximum goosebumps effects. Because you are very open to foreign music, you won't be turned off by Fake Monk like I've seen of other reactors.

HuaHua is my favorite performer in the world. I listen to him every day, can't live without him. Before the pandemic, my family was ready to fly to China to see him if we could get tickets. The fan club was offering to help international fans, and there are tons of us, but not everyone can afford to go. Many of us were planning to, but damn the virus. People are correct. FAKE MONK is next. Then either Qi Tian or Child. Both are fantastic. He doesn't have any bad songs. Each one is a gem. You could just pick at random from Hua Chenyu English Subs. God Bless Them for taking the time and energy to translate his songs for the rest of the world, so always go there to choose. For Fake Monk choose the version that has the brief interview before he goes on stage. It will explain a lot about who he is and why we are all so devoted to him. We are called Martians, BTW. Oh my, i love your reaction video about Huahua, his a musical Genius in his generation and one of the Most influential Singer/Artist in Mainland China. He has a huge fanbase (Martians) all over the world and his songs creation is very high standard and really standout and incredible. He has a wide vocal range, dramatic stage performance, he can mixed different genres in one song. He even composed four songs in one whole afternoon. He can play piano flute guitar, drums etc. And everytime he held concert (Annual) his Mars concert ticket sold out in just 2minutes (the longest time) and 3 seconds for the record in Mainland China with 90,000 capacity in each day (3 consecutive days) and he is the only one can do that as an artist.

Hua Chenyu is the most creative male artist I have ever seen (like KZ Tandingan and on the female side). Every song is different; IMO he cannot be categorized into any single type of style. He does them all. The style he does with the hand gestures is Chinese opera. What also makes him also different from other vocalists is that he can incorporate more art in his performances, with less emphasis on vocals. "Fake Monk" is a good example of this- it's something you probably have never seen before and should see. He is a philosopher- he wants to sing whatever he wants and how he wants- there are no restraints. So people may not like every performance- but he is totally unique.
Your reaction is so fun to watch. The good news is nunchucks is just the tip of the iceberg. Hua is just ridiculously talented. He composed most of his own songs and they are never mainstream. He is a stage beast. Just pick any songs and be amazed. A good tip will be to watch with eng subs as his own songs usually are very deep. Hua is a master composer, song writer and singer, a very talented artist who came to the public eye in 2013 when he won Super Boy. In this The Singer in 2018, he rearranged many songs, cementing his status of super star, showcasing his versatility and ability to hypnotise the crowd, making them jump and sing with him, just like at this concerts. The lady who seems familiar to you is none other than Jessie J. She took a break from The Voice UK at the time and participated in The Singer and won. Great Reaction. This was the perfect intro to Hua (and you pronounced his name right too) as he can take an ordinary song, and totally rearrange it into a piece of art. He's a musical genius in his own lane and doesn't compromise his music but keeps on getting better with each year and new album released. I can't wait to see your coming reactions to him in future days. Some early songs that are good for starters are "Child" and Fake Monk" to name a few, as they were sung earlier in his career and than you can listen to the songs he's written, the music, he's arranged, and see the many sold out concerts he's held up till now. I understand your shock ! I felt the same... 👍 For me, Chenyu Hua is one of the best singers actually, with Dimash. They can sing every music genre... Hua Chenyu is an excellent composer, and Dimash a wonderful song writer, and they both play various instruments... Artistry to the top. 💖 With Chenyu Hua and Dimash, you can listen all their songs, you will be blown away each time... Zhou Shen is really wonderful too, but less "versatile".

When you get to his popular "Fake Monk", it is good to find the one on the Hua Chenyu Eng sub channel with the pre-performance interview where he talks about how his childhood relates to how he interpreted the song. But it might be better to watch the interview after, and not ruin the surprise. Yes, you are pronouncing it right. Something like the Police song that goes "Every breath you take, I'll be Hua Chenyu". He is a master arranger - this was his cover of a rap song.

Hua Chenyu the first singer that doesn't care the results but just wanted to express his self-growth through the performances on this stage. If you could watch from EP4 that would be a great experience to see how a singer shows his rendition talent and versatile styles thoroughly. He’s magnificent, isn’t he? I knew you would love him. Now you see why I called him one of the world’s best performers. I see a lot of people recommend “Fake Monk”, and yeah, it’s an amazing cover; he’s so good at rearranging song to fit him. My first encounter with Hua Hua was “Ordinary Path”, also a cover. It made me an instant fan. But personally I think you should check out one of his own songs next, like “Qi Tian”. It’s one of his most beloved songs, and if I remember correctly, no other performance got a higher score on Singer 2018. There’s a music video for it as well, if you prefer that. And several live performances besides the one on Singer. On Singer 2020, he performed almost exclusively his own songs. Especially “Bullfighting” blew people away. That one also has a gorgeous music video. He’s such a great composer, nothing beats his own songs. There’s also a lot of live material available from his huge annual Mars concerts, they’re spectacular and definitely worth checking out.

I recommend watching his live performance of his own song, Qi Tian, on the same show (Singer 2018), as it also combines dramatic switches between slow sections, rap and rock. Hua Hua (his nickname) is the biggest music artist in China. He is an amazing superstar but is widely unknown in the western world. He is known for his yearly "Mars" concerts (his fans are known as martians) where he regularly sells out stadiums as large as the 90,000 seat birds nest in Beijing. He actually holds the record by selling out 3 consecutive nights at the birds nest in less than 5 minutes. That is less than 5 minutes for all three nights. He was on the 2018 season of "The Singer" as a replacement singer so he started the series at episode 4. He came in second to Jessie J that season but the producers of ""The Singer" found a way to get him back on the show by making their 2020 season all about Asian hit makers. He won the 2020 season and has also been a judge/mentor on quite a few different Chinese music competition shows. Any video clip of him performing on either season of "The Singer" will be a must see video clip. Some of his performances are very good but the others should be on a wall in a museum because they are pure works of art. You have to be careful of copyright claims by the production company but as long as you take precautions (you already do by making the video somewhat transparent) you should be okay. They do understand that it is reaction video's on RUclips of stars like Hua Chenyu that has expanded the reach of their show. There is another show called "The Next" where he is challenged by contestants and he is given 24 hours to remake some awful song into something wonderful. He excels at that and there are some amazing clips on RUclips of the end result after a sleepless 24 hours. Anyway you slice it, you cannot go wrong with Hua Chenyu. No two songs are ever the same but you will always be amazed at just how talented this guy is. Oh, I almost forgot, the girl in the white sitting up front is Angela. She was the host of the show for that season and was also a contestant.

The wordless song from his audition for that show is just the beginning and if you have already seen that clip, there are many more. Do a search here on RUclips for "2013 Superboy Hua Chenyu". That should pull up all of the clips here on RUclips including the full episodes for that season (which he did win).
Yay! Hua Chenyu is so good! One of my all time favorite performers. I would suggest like many others, doing Fake Monk next, though you really can't go wrong with any of his performances. Wayfarer, Qi Tian, Bullfighting are all great.

For me Hua Chenyu is Artist. I like his creative, passion and energy. I am glad that you want to know more his art, because there is a lot to get to know. I especially recommend his compositions. You can find a lot on RUclips and if you want you won't be fed up with his music, voice and art. So I hope you will choose his good performances yourself. For me, he hasn't had any bad performances so far and he's already working some time in the entertainment business in China.

HuaHua is my favorite performer in the world. I listen to him every day, can't live without him. Before the pandemic, my family was ready to fly to China to see him if we could get tickets. The fan club was offering to help international fans, and there are tons of us, but not everyone can afford to go. Many of us were planning to, but damn the virus. People are correct. FAKE MONK is next. Then either Qi Tian or Child. Both are fantastic. He doesn't have any bad songs. Each one is a gem. You could just pick at random from Hua Chenyu English Subs. God Bless Them for taking the time and energy to translate his songs for the rest of the world, so always go there to choose. For Fake Monk choose the version that has the brief interview before he goes on stage. It will explain a lot about who he is and why we are all so devoted to him. We are called Martians, BTW. Oh my, i love your reaction video about Huahua, his a musical Genius in his generation and one of the Most influential Singer/Artist in Mainland China. He has a huge fanbase (Martians) all over the world and his songs creation is very high standard and really standout and incredible. He has a wide vocal range, dramatic stage performance, he can mixed different genres in one song. He even composed four songs in one whole afternoon. He can play piano flute guitar, drums etc. And everytime he held concert (Annual) his Mars concert ticket sold out in just 2minutes (the longest time) and 3 seconds for the record in Mainland China with 90,000 capacity in each day (3 consecutive days) and he is the only one can do that as an artist.

Hua Chenyu is the most creative male artist I have ever seen (like KZ Tandingan and on the female side). Every song is different; IMO he cannot be categorized into any single type of style. He does them all. The style he does with the hand gestures is Chinese opera. What also makes him also different from other vocalists is that he can incorporate more art in his performances, with less emphasis on vocals. "Fake Monk" is a good example of this- it's something you probably have never seen before and should see. He is a philosopher- he wants to sing whatever he wants and how he wants- there are no restraints. So people may not like every performance- but he is totally unique.

He is a stage beast. Just pick any songs and be amazed. A good tip will be to watch with eng subs as his own songs usually are very deep. His live performances are prefered over MV cos that is where u can witness his insane stage presence and live vocals

This song was originally sang by Jay Chou. Hua recomposed/rearranged it for the sake of the competition The Singer. Hua is a master composer, song writer and singer, a very talented artist who came to the public eye in 2013 when he won Super Boy.
In this The Singer in 2018, he rearranged many songs, cementing his status of super star, showcasing his versatility and ability to hypnotise the crowd, making them jump and sing with him, just like at this concerts.

He's a musical genius in his own lane and doesn't compromise his music but keeps on getting better with each year and new album released. For me, Chenyu Hua is one of the best singers actually, with Dimash. They can sing every music genre... Hua Chenyu is an excellent composer, and Dimash a wonderful song writer, and they both play various instruments... Artistry to the top. 💖

It was so much fun to see you reacting to Nunchucks. I love it too. My other favorite is "Fake Monk" which he also performed on The Singer. I see that many other people recommended it so I'm looking forward to your reaction. As normal in Asia, it is in fact Chenyu Hua, but all his fans call him Hua Hua. His fanbase is called Martians. I'm one of them.
