Rachel ending up with idols and advantages by pure chance despite feeling that they’re cursed and not outwardly looking for them is wild. She felt that they were a curse but she successfully used them for social gain and kept her idol secret and it helped her propel herself to the end against all odds. I agree with her sentiments about it in the new era, but I love that she found a way to navigate those advantages perfectly and won!!
My brother and sis in law have been listening to Pod Save America since it came out. I told my brother John was going on survivor. His response oh no he is going to die 😂😂😂
I'm one of the crossover Survivor-Pod Save America fans, so I'm really excited to see Jon on this season! He's going to have fantastic commentary and is extremely insightful as far as strategy and politics. I could see him struggling to connect on a personal level with others, but could also see him doing extremely well if he's able to find a few solid bonds. I can definitely see him as having similarities to Penner-- he's got a mind for the meta-narrative approach to Survivor. LOVE his take on big moves as the performance of strategy rather than actual strategy.
Lovett's insights on the game were quite refreshing - I was already a fan but this endeared me to him even more. And kudos to him for understanding that the best way to protect himself from shows being ruined is to never mention his fandom bc ppl find a way to ruin shows (purposefully or just recklessly). I'm excited to see how he manages the 3rd part of his strategy: playing against himself and/or growing comfortable in his position.
I love Pod Save America! And I love Survivor and RHAP! I hope Jon goes far! I was a delegate at the Democratic convention. Tried to get through Media row to meet him!
Interesting. On Jon while on paper he should go far I am not sure. There is a sense of holding back and I wonder if that will impact his game play. Or he could come out as a strategic natural genius. Regardless I am looking forward to seeing it play out.
I was contemplating recently. I was wondering: isn't it better to come in the game with a reputation rather than being unknown? Here's my thought process: if you come with a certain reputation than you know to defend against that, to manage your threat level based on that. Whereas if you come in the game unknown, your tribe's mates can paint you as a target based on a criteria that you don't even know about, you might not even catch wind of, so you don't know what to defend against. Does that make sense? I'm curious to hear other oppinions. I can give example: Tony in WAW knows to defend against his reputation of being an agressive player. But some new girl on some newby season that gets called "a Parvati" behind her back doesnt even know that she is being seen as that. It might even be made up, it probably is.
To me, it looks like Rachel is half white, half chinese, having grown up in Thailand (correct me if I'm wrong). Personality wise, she's very close to Frannie from S44.
She always reminded of Frannie. Especially, with the immunity wins. Although, I don’t think Rachel was as surprised as Frannie was about this. Also, they are so nice. It was a pleasure watching them do so well and of course, Rachel winning.
Hm, I think the new chapter divisions are neat but I kinda preferred when it was just intro - interview 1 - discussion of interview 1 - intro - interview 2 - discussion of interview 2
I was going into this expecting to be blown away with Jon based off the preseason hype/coverage. I have no clue who he is which a lot of people do. But I was pretty underwhelmed. Seems like a great dude but I can’t picture him as the winner or a serious contender yet. Maybe he’ll be better on show than he was during the interview, but right now I’m hesitant to draft him high
There’s not enough time to do one per day since the cast dropped 14 days before the premiere! Not a snarky suggestion, I promise: You can pause the video after the first interview & discussion, then come back later in the day to finish.
Damn they really loved Rachel I see it but I gotta say with all the alternate they have do they even really look at new people casting tapes or is it about who knows who
Rachel’s interview story process was really interesting. I’m sure she is a STUDENT of the game at this point. Really exciting!!
love how you had the first boot and winner on the same pregame pod 🤭🤭
The first boot and the winner 😮

Here after Rachel's win. What an incredible game she played. Finally the one that deserved to win, won!

Lovett had the same worries.😅😅
Rachel 🎉
When Rachel wins the game how ironic that her rhap interviews are paired with the first boot.
After this interview, Rachel skyrocket to one of my favorites from this cast, she seems so cool and easy to talk to
Winner
lol the first out and the winner

I had no idea who he was, but I'm curious to see how many people recognize him and if that hurts or helps him in the game

Really in love with Rachels energy but I'm kinda getting pre-merger vibes :( Still rooting for her tho!!!
Should of had winner vibes. 🤣🤣🤣
I'm really hoping Jon does well.
If Aysha and Lovett make it to the final 3, my heart will be so happy!
More like first three out lol.

Even Bruce said that she reminded him of Frannie.
Why do you need to determine her racial identity?
@@jujujupiter What's wrong with stating something about her ethnicity? I'm not saying anything bad about her.

Who did Rachel say was her favorite winner (non US)?
Dino
The irony of Rachel's hot take being that idols and advantages set you up to fail lmao
Love Rachel! I've been waiting for a strong Asian woman for a long time since Kellee Kim so go Rachel! ❤
Wow in love with Lovett’s interview so good!
Rob is so delightfully messy @33:01.
What am I missing with this joke here?

I definitely prefer one video at the time, like you guys did last year.
