It's crazy how much effort this takes! Being able to combine fast, massive, and accurate rolls with incredibly fine rudder control, like this pilot, is just incredible! And it's really cool to see how with each lap, the flying line opens up and requires more management, because of a build in overall oscilations. Man this just makes me WANT to be a pilot, let alone of this caliber

He also gave me control of the plane while he tightened his seatbelts before giving me the aerobatic manoeuvres. So, he said to me "You have control.", I then replied "I have control." plane then immediately went into a 90 degree wingover "Um, I don't have control!"

As an aerobatic pilot I flew mainly on the Walter Extra and Pitts Special with hundreds of passengers. 4 G’s is still ok with most of them. At 6 G’s people get tunnel vision and start to black out. 7 G’s and more and its sleepy time for 99%. High positive G’s are hard, but negative G’s (inverted loops f.e.) are far more difficult. I take a +9G every day over a -4G manoeuvre. Most people red out at -4 G’s without substantial training.
@@joaosantos9805 "G force" literally means "Gravitational force equivalent", it has almost everything to do with gravity, it's how we measure the relationship between objects and the Earth's gravity. The only part of it that doesn't involve gravity is the individual acceleration/momentum, but even that is correlated with the normal gravity (1 G) in order to measure the force wich the object experiences.

A lot of people surprised by the 10Gs.. that’s actually a limit set by the race organizers. Pilots get penalized if they exceed 10Gs.

If i recall correctly they're allowed to be over 10G for 0.6 seconds and get disqualified if they peak over 12G (which does happen occasionally).
