Is the white part of the Santa hat addition to the red or part of it? I bought the pdf from your Etsy shop but it doesn’t specify where to switch colors.
I will check the PDF pattern but it should say to change to white right before row 31. 31 and all the rows after are white.
Could you show me how to make a witches hat for the hat of my gnome? I've followed all the other videos in this series, I just need the hat 😭 thank you so much!
Rows 1-26 are the same. Rows 25 and 26 are a different color for the strap around the hat. Then in rows 27-31 you will work 6 increases in each row to get the wide brim. The full pattern is here: www.windingroadcrochet.com/crochet-witch-gnome-free-pattern/
New to crocheting and I am making a purple gnome for dementia awareness for my mom who has dementia. So I saw you used a hook F 3.75mm I don’t have that size would a G 4.0 be ok to use in its place?
If you use a g hook, your gnome will turn out larger. Your stitches will not be as tight so you may see stuffing between the stitches. You can definitely do use a G hook, just know that those two things will change.
hi, i wanted to crochet a gnome and i found your channel and site, the gnomes your designed are so cute, i was wondering if you would and could make a gnome with a christmas tree as a hat. i would really like and appreciate it. but ofcourse it doesn't matter if you cant or don't want do it. byee!
It is on the list.
How would you suggest creating a horned Viking Helmet for a Viking Gnome?
Any rounded hat would work. I would look up a viking horn pattern and work it in the Size E hook and just work the first several rows. You will stuff the hat to create the rounded look.
@@WindingRoadCrochet Thanks!
I was looking for the fisherman hat, it isn't in the tutorials. Is it available anywhere?
It is only available as a written pattern. The video tutorials are only for the basic gnome.
I'm so lost. The graduation gnome lead me here. That hat is flat. I'm so confused because when I try making it from the written instructions it's long but not wide enough. This video is a round hat. Does anyone know?
The video tutorial series is for the basic gnome which has a pointed hat. The graduation gnome's hat starts with a big hole in the top and then the square piece covers that up. The last row of the graduation gnome hat has the same number of stitches as all the other gnome hats and should be the same width.
@@WindingRoadCrochet I figured it out. I wrote it down instead of following off the site. I completely missed between row 1 and 2 where it says work in the round. I was on the last row and just had this long rectangle piece 😂 so I was really confused. Thank you for replying and also thank you for the pattern. I had no idea you were one in the same!
I am not sure what the extra long tail had to do with the construction of the hat. I have made all the pieces but I haven't put them together yet.
I believe it is just for sewing the pieces together, but I glue the pieces together personally. I just use the gnomes as decoration.
How long should be the hat
About 5 inches.
Where is the video that shows how to put it all together?
It is coming next week.
not sure why but my arms looked so small compared to the body
You can always add extra rows to add more length. Some of the gnomes that are holding things (like the bride holding a bouquet) the pattern will call for extra rows in the arms.
