How generous and thoughtful of everyone that sent you something. My grandmother, who passed in the mid 1980s, lived through the great depression. She was very frugal and saved all the buttons, zippers, and fasteners from every piece of clothing she deemed unwearable. After she passed, my mom and her younger sister cleared out Grandma's house. They found jars and coffee cans full of buttons. I remember playing with them as a child. Oh, what I would give to have some of those beautiful buttons...

Why are cats so flippin' stubborn?😂I'm 62 and have had cats since the age of 18, and studying their behaviour over the decades has been such an eye opener. Nowhere to be seen until the minute you begin to do something, then they're all over it😅 Draining the pasta in the sink, I turned round to put it in the serving dish...only to find one of my cats sitting in the thing🤫🤭I mean, you couldn't make it up could you?😆 You received some wonderful gifts there, how very kind of people to think of you both.
If the kitty fits, it sits! The three little pigs fabric is stylized from a cartoon that played here in america on Saturdays. The Pigs did a jig and danced to annoy the wolf. There is a ribbon/flower store in New York City, NY. It has been there for 100 years. And they still are making silk flowers and have antique ribbons. You should watch a video on their store.

The comments are working! Obviously people love you both and really want to be a part of what you’re doing. Quit worrying about doing anything perfectly, we love your perfectly imperfect way of doing things.
How about a video organizing all your gifts? How about a video showing you sorting through the bits and bobs you find while mudlarking? Deciding how you might use them in your dolls’ houses? I find that when I’m organizing or reorganizing my craft room I come up with projects and my creative juices flow the strongest.
Fleur kept mentioning redoing Bitsy’s dress and I think that would be a great place to start!
I find it funny you imagine the American cousin coming in all dressed to the nines! Americans nowadays are so sloppy. My generation was all about fancy party dresses and tea parties. All I see where I live are girls and boys in sloppy sweatshirts and ripped jeans. Yuck!

Watching you unbox all of those beautiful things reminded me so much of looking through my Grandma's sewing basket when I was little. So full of sparkles and ribbons, interesting boot hooks and ivory lace making bobbins. It was a real treasure trove! Thank you for bringing back such a lovely memory of my grandma xx
That is a nice memory. My grandmother had a telephone table that had a drawer full of buttons. I loved playing with them. The ladies were totally enjoying all the beautiful goodies they received.

You can always trust a pet to want attention when you're busy. My dog sometimes tries to sit on my knee (despite being too big to do so) when I'm working on the computer, creating art, etc...

Sunny is hysterical! I believe what he sat on was used in the 1940s to go in a basket to hold and keep buns and rolls warm. I cannot wait to see what you create with your new treasures!

I grew up in Arizona and had quite a few trinkets, including a one inch by half inch, brightly painted and decorated oval wooden box with the tiniest of Worry Dolls. Six of them. I loved those little dolls, and love all of the little dolls you both have. I really loved this episode! All it was missing was a steaming hot cup of coffee or tea! 😊❤

Druckknopf is apparently a press stud. Prym was the company, and Zukunft means future. So I guess the box was for state of the art poppers. What a fabulous gift ❤

Oh wow! I saw chair material, and couches to match. Sashes for dolls, and dresses too! Wall hangings for the study (okay, I love all things science, and I saw many!) Even the atomic ribbon for the 1940's house! Isn't that when the world started thinking about atomic energy? Your nice gray cat is a gourmet! The blue/white checked fabric pockets are to serve and keep warm dinner rolls, usually fitted into a basket. Chat must be loving the memory smells of cozy yeast rolls from the past to perfume and keep warm his cat dreams!

Such treasures generously given. Some people have such lovely treasures and it amazes me how they are able to let them go. Except they know you will make good use of them. Isn't it better to have them enjoyed and used and seen by thousands on here. Managing to bring joy to others. Much better than in a box seen only by one. Maybe never used.

Sunny is hilarious 😂 I have a chihauhau who was raised by and with cats so she thinks she's a cat and does (or tries) to do what they used to do. My cats have passed away now but one day, when I'm ready, I will rescue another one or two 😉 🐈⬛🐈
