Brilliant mix of history, scenario, and game all rolled into one video! This is also an awesome teaser for your longer form videos!

A professional presentation and an excellent AAR. It is certainly one that I would vote for in the Quick Strike challenge.

Great to see the campaign in Malaya in miniature. Great table, great figures.

Cheers, there's a couple more Malayan campaign videos on the channel, some for CoC, IABSM and some for O group and more coming!

No worries, I enjoy your AARs and tutorials, but I especially love your illustrated historical pieces.
In this case you optimised the limited timeslot in combing a succinct but informative intro and an AAR that ran a bit like a combined press report / match commentary.
Ps, I applaud your wisdom in finding a sweet spot in terms of a chosen scale of 15mm and applying it across a variety of periods and systems.
The fact that you can, for example, use the same figures and terrain for both CoC & Ogroup is a very appealing concept

    • @StormofSteelWargaming
      @StormofSteelWargaming  3 года назад

Thank you, that is really appreciated! 15mm is just natural to me, mostly because I'm cheap! But yeah, I reuse terrain all across all periods, it works well!

I understand the value of cheap.
My job (bush regeneration) pays well below average, and I am currently providing the majority of figures and terrain for the people I game with.
Living in regional Australia during pandemic restrictions, figure availability can also be a bit of a problem.
This in mind, my default choice was good old 1/72. Cheap but cheerful.
Most of my terrain is scratch done stuff from salvage & forage (eg seasponges, fence lichens & ground mosses as vegetation & foliage).
One big saving in time and money came from noticing that many of the woody weeds I pulled out at work (Paticularly 'Senna pendula') had complex and durable root structures that resembled branch canopy when inverted.
This means that a day's work at the right site can yield dozens of tree armatures instantly ready for foliage and basing, enabling me to cover large areas of table with varied woodland (including bare branched winter specimens) for the cost of glue and paint.

Wow this was definitely quick! The challenge only went up a day ago well done Storm! Very cool to see O Group, I've only tried Chain of Command myself from TFL.

CoC is probably my favourite game, but O Group is definitely creeping up the list. I'll let you into a secret, LWTV asked myself and few other youtubers to make a QS video to coordinate with their announcement, so this has been made for a couple of months.

@@StormofSteelWargaming beautiful, although there's plenty of time for me to produce a handful before Dec 31st I would like to get with the launch hype. I'll get something made in a little while. Have an Operation Grief scenario in my mind with a small skirmish WW2 game that might be perfect for it.

@@WesternTabletop That sound excellent and perfect for the format! Good luck with it, I just realised I wasn't subscribed to you, so I've fixed that now!

Really enjoyed this. I hope you do more 'quick strikes'. I have now seem a few of these and think this was a inspired challenge by the Little Grognards.

This quick strike worked for me - I’m interested enough in O Group to want to see a brief AAR, though I’m not planning to get into that scale myself. And I just subscribed since I see other games in your past videos that I’m more interested in following up
