So many negative comment’s. Long drive last min alteration and only 20min early. Happy to wait in entry area. So what is the issues . Ok rules are rules but rarely is any journey timings full proof with traffic diversions Ect. Doesn’t excuse the site operative being rude not good for business ,not good for customers

Yes rules is rules, do what we do and call at the services, lay-by or cafe until time. Before the club began getting firm with arrival time we’ve seen up to ten units blocking roads and drive from 11.30 at busy times.

Just subbed 👍 I see the CAMC hasn't changed, I cancelled my membership 10yrs ago through a run in with a toxic staff member. I'd never go back to that club.
Talking of toxic people, I see you took the Facebook post down, don't even bother trying to engage with them, they are full of jealous angry people. This stops people posting sadly.
I like this kind of video format, different sites and things to do, just steer clear of the clickbait thumbnails & titles (contrary to what YT want's) viewers see through that 😉😏
Nice video, it was a pleasure to watch 👍🙏

Omg I cannot believe why there is so many negative comments, just shrug it off and ignore them there is no room for rudeness in this world , we have a small RUclips channel and we get comments like this all the time , mainly saying nasty things about our family because we are full time carers for our children who have autism and several other health issues, the problem is people only see a very small portion of our daily lives and do not know what we deal with on a daily basis , so please don’t let this get to you and ignore them x have subbed by the way x

The 1pm arrival rule has been in place for a long time now and in your intro failed to mention that you drove past the sign on the road telling you to go away. Before you there was a caravan that was turned away, before the caravan could have been someone else. If they don't enforce the rule before long you will have a Q all down the road. I've been to sites where it's not enforced and it's ended up with a line down the road which does not allow other traffic to move leading to tempers / road rage incidents. At one site (this year) a motorhome turned up at 11am and parked at the entrance ignoring the 1pm sign. I arrived the day before so I saw them exit their vehicle and walk round the site. They chose a pitch and one of them stood there to "guard" the pitch, they were made to leave and I never saw them again.
My SatNav tells me how many hours /minutes to the site so I sit off and wait. If you research where you are going you can identify possible "holding places" to save you having to fall out with the wardens and after all most of them are having their lunch more so these days as the club has reduced warden numbers in effort to reduce /maintain costs for members.
I'm not a total fan of the club and disagree with lots of things that they do / don't do but I totally agree with turning units away otherwise you just lose control of the population and the arrival times will creep longer and longer.

That is what happens when you don’t follow the rules and instructions given in the booking information, and the pre arrival email. Most people plan to arrive on time and will stop somewhere on route to adjust their arrival time. Spend some time to read the handbook and understand what is expected of you as a member and. stop whining when you were at fault!

I think the difference between a great experience and an unfortunate experience is often found when site wardens use a little bit of judgement around the rules rather than sticking rigidly to them. It feels like the CAMC is in danger of outsmarting themselves and instead need a refocussed strategy to develop a consistent, fantastic, service across the sites to attract new and returning customers. It can't end there either... they need to also start future-proofing their whole concept by adding new features, social spaces, entertainment etc if they are to survive as a viable competitive entity in the coming years...

I really don't get what you're complaining about, you wouldn't be allowed in a shop 20 minutes early no matter how long a drive you've had! The fact that you can't understand that the rules have to black and white otherwise it get's flaunted is astounding. How many times in the course of a year do you think the wardens have to explain that the 1pm arrival time is firm, I'd be more than stroppy

We are fairly new to the club and planned to pull in at the site and wait until one before disturbing reception. We didn't realise the reason for the rules but obviously have learned now. From the other point of view, a million jobs to try and get done before you concentrate on booking in. Maybe even time to get a sandwich in before you are then on duty from 1-9pm booking in often, but obviously not all, moaning whining campers. After a million times, you do wonder to yourself, how difficult is it to read a simple instruction, no arrivals before 1pm, and yes, sometimes it can wear down even the best of us and make you a little grumpy.

    • @VanTripsWhereNext

It's all about getting in first to "Pick the best pitch" I've seen people running in to secure pitch by taking chairs and sitting on the pitch ...rediculous, long live the 1pm rule. Think I'll have the badges made up and sell them. I think you should not renew your membership and you will feel much better. I get emails (two) and text messages reminding me of the 1pm rule. To be fair you know the rules about arriving too early,if the warden had let you stay in the arrivals lane and others who were booking in that day saw you then they would want to pull up behind you,and then another outfit until the entrance and the aproach road gets blocked .It doesn't matter how many hours you have been on the road you could have pulled into a laybye for half an hour and had a cuppa like me and my partner do if we are early.Typical moaners when they have been pulled up for not abiding by the rules oh im not going to renew my membership, what a childish attitude to take.Ive been a member of the CAMC club for nearly forty years and its a good club to belong to.Ive been spoken to if i have done something wrong but like a grown up i just take it on the chin. You would only be cutting off your nose to spite your face if you didnt renew your membership.Any way just stay safe and enjoy your adventures.

Liked the video and hope you're not too downhearted about the CAMC experience. The 'don't arrive before 1:00pm rule' is well publicised by CAMC. Some sites have narrow or restricted approach roads and queues waiting to get in before 1pm would be problematic. I guess you know now, but if the warden was rude theres no excuse for that. I had the misfortune of running into a complete tw@@@t of a CAMC warden at Cullodden who went ballistic because unknown to me my membership card had expired. Little did I know the club had moved to a digital membership available on the app and if you wanted an old fashioned membership card need to order one via the membership portal. So despite having booked the pitch online at member rates the azzhole demanded to see another form of identification and continued to raise his voice when I said I had no idea why the card had not been automatically renewed like it had been the previous 11 years. He didn't actually explain that the membership card had gone digital, only that my card was invalid and 'you need to ask for a membership card now'. Looking back at old emails from CAMC the info was in the renewal email 11 months previous but well down where I hadn't read. Also as I don't read their awful magazine if the info was in there at some point I wouldn't see it. Unfortunately some of these members of staff have no customer service skills and are poorly trained in how to deal with situations.
