can anyone explain to me why i always watch combos where players strike after landing from an aerial strike, smoothly following with H or V, but whenever i try to repeat, my V or H doesn't reach the target?

for horizontal block do i just need to hold or release for the parry?

To trigger the block, just hold lmb, and anytime you are hit by a blue from the front it will trigger. You don't need to time anything.
