Hi. Thanks for the video, it helped a lot! Thought I have a question: is there a way to increase the drop chance of "special items"? I think I've tried killing that froggy fella from Miasma Swirl around 20 times already but didn't get ANY of the two purple souljades it drops. Or maybe I have bad luck?
If you play on a higher difficulty, the chance will be higher to drop the stage specific souljades. If you have any of the souljade gifts you can directly pick the ones you want. But I will usually get the one I want after maybe 15 tries on average, so I think your luck is a little bad
Can someone do this with high ping like 80-100 ? if you havent seen anyone could you test it out with a VPN to increase ping ?
Yes, I have done it on 100 ping. Any ping can do it
@@MeIonSoju Have you tried in the last 2 months after the netcode patch change ? They changed the game from client to sever side after that patch. One of my friends tried today with VPN to make high ping like 100, he usually does it on 18 ping says it doesn't work on high ping anymore. I also tried but after the first scV the second scV doesn't hit on time gets delayed and doesn't make the guy go up in air.
@@brecketsiezma408 I just tried it with ~100 ping, it is still possible. Just a lot harder (most things are after the change). I managed to get 3 steps, but I am sure I would get better if I practiced more on the same ping. But on 100+ ping many things just feel bad, there are a lot of inconsistencies that you can't do anything about, many times it dropped and it was not my fault.

I have never used controller so I am not sure, but while holding Vertical charge focus press Horizontal or while holding Horizontal charge focus press Vertical.

Thank you so much for the guide! It's super useful. Do you have any recommendation how to git gud with defuse? They are hard ;_; At least since I noticed the flash and sparkles during an incoming blue attack, my counters became a more reliable but my defuses are pretty horrible. :(
I am glad you found it useful! For defusing, it will depend what character you play... Since this video, tianhai and tarka have been buffed a lot and now have by far the strongest defuses in the game. If you play Kurumi, Temulch, Viper, or Valda, you will have a very very bad defuse. I plan on making a video later on this season's showdown meta, and I will break down the different defuses in that video!

New season, has started, so new potential trees. At this time, this same strategy can still be used to pass up to stage 45 (highest at the moment.) You can take the left side tree. Faster runs will use other methods besides this one, but there is no need to change as of now.

I have 20-30 ms, 144 FPS and i can't hit them in time after c.V H -> V <- as he already falls to the ground. Is it because i have too low ping? What a nonsense game which favors higher ms...
Besides the last couple combos, I have seen every combo in this video done on 25ms or lower and 150fps or lower. Higher ping is not necessary to do these combos, and lower ping is an advantage in almost every other aspect of the game. There are even combos which only work on lower ping or are made objectively better because of it.

I didn't fully understand your methodoloqy, and this doesn't mirror my experience, or it doesn't apply to scissor parry or there's something wrong with the methodology. So I just went to free practice again, Longsword and Nunchuck (supposedly different startup timings) against enemy nunchuck 1st stage vertical attack (simple single hit attack whose timing doesn't change with range). I charged with vertical attack for over 13 frames (buttom prompt changes), and pressed quick parry (button prompt disappears). With both weapons, 4th frame or less scissor parry fails, and 5th frame and beyond succeeds. This is just the startup speed of scissor parry. 50 ping 165 fps. In my experience, neutral parry is the speed of scissor parry + 6 (sometimes 7) frames, indicated by the minimum time of 6 frames the button prompts are visible if you press composite buttons simultaneously. If you use quick parry from neutral, the prompt disappears immediately and the white flash appears at similar delay (within 1 frame) counting from first button prompts when using composite buttons I would recommend using the button prompts and hit reg as markers, or the focus attack ring effect in case there's something weird with the stoneform or recovery animations. I'll try testing some more with other parries, though I don't have any scrips for super consistent testing.
tested with same weapons except with quick parry from neutral, not scissor parry. For nunchuck, 12th frame and onwards is success and 10th frame or below fails (gave up trying to record 11th frame). With longsword 12th and onwards is success and 11th frame or below fails. So same startup speed for neutral parry. Using 60 fps video so 1 frame is 16.7ms.

@@ronny584 depends on what you mean by scissor parry, because some people say composite buttons = scissor parry. In my book, scissor parry = parry during charging focus before 1st focus attack stage which gives you faster parry, and it doesn't matter whether you use quick parry or composite buttons. Parry from neutral state is slower than this, and it also doesn't matter whether you use quick parry or composite buttons.

Corrected values for some weapons. I didn't factor in that a different weapon triggering stoneform might cause f.V to release sooner or later. If a weapon is not displayed below, it is because its values are still correct when taking into account this new variable (its delay between stoneform trigger -> release f.V is 1120ms, the same 1120ms originally applied to all weapons). Oh, I don't know how I didn't consider this....... Just tested, there is a difference of 30ms between gs and katana, so I will now retest and calculate all the other weapons. I will make a comment with all updated values.
