Our insurance company upped our premium by 20%. We shopped around but they still offered the cheapest so we renewed with them anyway. Insurance costs are crazy!

last year I had to replace 1 furnace, 2 AC central air units, 2 hot water heaters, and 1 refrigerator. this all happened in the span of 3 months. thankfully I had about 5 months worth of an emergency fund saved up and no debt. that was also the year my house payments ran out and my house was paid off finally. now I'm just trying to get my emergency fund back to where it was before everything crapped out on me.
Inflation is not lower or stopped in my areas. I kept seeing prices go up almost every week or two weeks.

I believe you can also get your house appraised and if you have enough equity in the home they will also get rid of PMI.
I have noticed auto insurance going up! I happily drive a 2008. I’m going to drive it until I can’t drive it anymore. Then I’ll buy a newer car. Of course cash. I am a network millionaire, but I wouldn’t buy new.

When I bought my first car, I got auto insurance with the same company my parents used because well...if it was good enough for Mom and Dad, it should be good enough for me. Years later, I shopped around and found much better rates at other well-known companies. Kicking myself for over-paying just because I was young and dumb.

Nope, not able to qualify for any discounts unless I spend a fortune beforehand.
