I love this channel bc the reviews seem more candid and less by the numbers than the other retro handheld channels. It feels like the products you review are an actual part of your life and dont just end up getting stashed away when the next thing comes out. I may be weong though lol
Thank you Retro Zoltan excellent review this is a very interesting system really like the form factor. Time for a manufacturer or distributor to send you an item to review I agree!
Thanks Zoltan. I've been curious about this one. I wonder how this compares to the RG40XX H. While a 4:3 screen is potentially more useful, the high pixel density on this screen should make it look better.
I don't get the square screen on handhelds like this. It's ill-suited for almost every system except Pico-8, so it to me is just weird to base a handheld around a system that didn't actually exist.
Its worth noting (as highlighted by Retro Game Corps) that the screen on the RG Cube XX has a higher pixel density than a 640x480 screen on most 4:3 handhelds; and additionally he measures the size of 4:3 windows on the Cube and they come out at about 3.7"; so actually bigger than any of the 3.5" 4:3 handhelds. Plus SNES scales very well at 8:7 aspect ratio, only cutting 8 pixels off on the right and left. So if anything, if you want a compact do-it-all handheld, and you happen to love GB/GBC/Pico-8/Vertical Arcade shooters, its actually a really good choice. Only if you're after a 4" 4:3 would I consider looking elsewhere.
@@colourofsounduk As you mention you mention the screen might be slightly larger but you also have to cut off content, a few pixels I admit but you shouldn't be cutting any of them off. Please don't don't think I'm trying to knock the quality of the device but personally I'd rather have a slightly compromised Pico-8 experience than compromising on all the other systems.
@RetroZoltan your ok I just am a little upset I got the wrong thing but it's pretty good it's just a little laggy tho and I'm going to try to find out how to download games and add a gba folder ect but I ain't got Time right this minute.

Thank you so much! This means tons to hear this!! They are a part of my life, I love these things! Well, most of them!
Yes! This is how you do a RUclips Channel.
@@NoelComiX aw man thanks! You have always inspired me, I mean it!

Some day, my day will come!
if they make this system but with 4:3 ratio like the rg406h, i’d consider it the ultimate budget handheld for me
RG40XXH ?
Ah yes, who can forget the ol' Goomba for size reference
Haha! It was within reach I had to do it :)
Possibly the only two handheld you need is 1:1 device like this or RGB30 and Steam deck.
Does the Bluetooth work with headphones or just controllers?
Sadly, I didn’t try headphones, but assuming they do? When I have a moment I’ll try and get mine working with it and see.
@RetroZoltan ok thanks... I heard from another guy headphones won't work with Bluetooth but I hope he's wrong... Im probably still gonna buy it...
Haven't been this early in a long time!
you win!
Are you ready to buy the Zotac?
Ok well… yea!

I’m hoping to get one to play with (R40XXH) at least for a little while.
RG Cube has the same 3.95" 720x720 screen
It does? Wow I really suck… I may have to clip that
Ok, I clipped it. I really appreciate you pointing this out to me, I hate making mistakes like this (I do them too often)

It’s a hard sell, I get it. I think NES and Gameboy (maybe even older like Atari) look good also but everything else … meh

@@colourofsoundukVery well said. Curious about the 8 pixels loss with SNES... was that after some adjustments using RetroArch?

@@RetroZoltan Yeah i think so; its in the RGC video. Basically SNES is very well suited to 8:7 aspect ratio which is very close to 1:1.
Would you recommend this setup for a chump like me who wants something to play while on the train?
What kind of games would you want to play?
@@RetroZoltanPC engine and some 90s arcade stuff.
@@buddyrevell6369Do you like the Game Boy's vertical style, or do you like the Atari Lynx's horizontal form factor?
Dame it I thought I got the rg cube not whatever this is huh off well I guess I don't know how to safely get games on my device either.
@@BryerTheKing1 if you have just the cube then it will be android based (I believe?) it didn’t come with games?
