She is not just a rapper. She used to be an ex SM academy trainee so of course her singing would definitely not be lacking
She was originally a vocalist but rbw CEO made her take rap lessons because mamamoo according to him had to many main vocalists
This makes me cry every time I hear it. Moonbyul's ability to convey the full message and emotions of the song using only her voice is something so special. I admire and applaud her for choosing to showcase her raw vocals over a flashy performance for this round. Could not be any prouder.

If I was just discovering Moonbyul through this clip, someone can tell me she is the main rapper of her group and I wouldn't believe 'cause the title of main vocalist fits her so well. This clip shows how much she deserves to be called as one
Moonbyul is from a group call mamamoo. They are a group of 4 girls, and moonbyul is the main rapper. Mamamoo is a group that u can believe in delivering a performance, thats live, fun and always different everytime. Their live vocal is their fame, as it always sound the same even with music remover.
And mamamoo is still active till today. In fact, they just release a new album, in the begining of October. Check it out, the music call ILLELLA. ITS SUPPER GOOD !!!
In a way Byul is like Amber from F(x). Both of them auditioned to be singers but their companies kind of moved them to become rappers. Even though both do a great job as a rapper (Byul is one of the best in Kpop), I always think her heart is in singing.

Moonbyul is so amazing the emotion that comes out of this song made me cry even though i didn't understand the lyrics. This is a performance that is well worth its place in any platform that appreciates music. Moonbyul's rendition of Refuge a cover song, tugs at your heartstrings and it's near impossible not to be moved. Open your ears and listen to it. You don't even need to see it...just listen and you will feel what the song means to her and get what she is trying bring across. Music is universal regardless of the language. Moonbyul has delivered here. It is on par with the high standards that her group MAMAMOO is known for - the vocalist giants of kpop. Their classic song I Miss You immediately comes to mind. Moon Byul, well done!
As an old guy from the US I watch these performances, listen to the music and have no idea about the lyrics. But the actions and the emotions of the performer are all anyone needs to enjoy this. This young lady put her heart and soul into this stellar performance and she did a wonderful job. She hit the high notes as expected and she is a very powerful singer and when she belts something out she reminds me of Halsey over here. Moonbyul is simply the best of all worlds.

@@AyDotHam I am 76 years old and am unable to learn Korean at this stage in my life. Have enough issues with english these days. But you are 100% correct. It is the music, the emotions and the feelinggs and connections that you have with the artist. Theree is nothing even close available here in the us. And i have migrated to SoHyang TV and seen an entirely different side of real Korean music and it is unbelievable to say the least.

I’m not Korean and I don’t know Korean that much, but Byul’s voice surely delivered her emotions and message in a very warm voice that melted my heart and teared my eyes.

I come back to listen to this performance every day and i cry about it at least once. I am so incredibly proud of moonbyul and how far she has come. This stage sits at the same table as the mamamoo i miss you one on queendom. A beautiful performance that focuses on showing off their vocals and shows that they need nothing more to control the stage. I'm kinda new to mamamoo and I've been thinking that moonbyul should be able to sing along with the other girlies when belting their hearts out bc her tone is just so rich and she can effortlessly blend in high HIGH harmonies so I couldn't resist and looked up "moonbyul singing", I also found out she trained under SM... GAGGED bc it's common knowledge that anyones been trained under SM does reach their vocal potential and they always train singers to develop their voice and not point them into a specific mold.
