I love her to bits, but sometimes it's soo funny when she can't keep still and like jumping amd skipping and do anything rather than staying still:D glad she enjoys herself as a singer as much as behind the drums:) maybe it's just strange to her that she doesn't have to constantly do stuff with her hands and feet. I'm really looking forward to see where her carries goes^^ and also can't wait for the studio version of the new song:)

Like I can understand why they put the playback in, to make her voice probably higher to make them hear it, but next time, I hope for no playback, and to actually hear Jen's voice.
I hate it when you can't hear the singers in festivals , I was watching a 5sos live at BBC radio 1 big weekend festival you could only hear Luke and Calum , Michaels and Ashton's miss wear turned of as if they weren't singing

Man Jen has gotten so much better for singing and such. I'm sad the sound guys did such a terrible job for you and the rest of the viewers at Uprise i dont why did such a bad job Its prob a real easy fix.
it's not bcause of sound guys this video was recorded with smart phone that's why the sound is bad

I was going to write the same. But why does she have all these bunch of backing vocals!? It's not necessary at that level, you can have main harmonies OK but the whole vocals?
Estefanía Aledo Most rock vocalist double/triple/quadruple their vocal tracks on their songs in the CD version to sound bigger and more filled. Singing along with a track can also provide the same effect. You also have something to lean on if you need a breath for a moment.
I've run sound desks before... not professionally mind you, but I know a thing or two... and from the get go she told them (gestured to the Sound tent) to up her vocals... problem is the sound tent was at the side of an open-air production... they couldn't hear the floor due to wind or whatever. This was someones mistake, no one puts the desk at the side of an open air event.
Me? I was saying fuck you to the people working sound at the actual event and saying thanks to Yupsure for recording the vids.

I agree the audio in this video and the backing vocals do not do Jen justice, she is so talented and did wonderful. She recognized this almost immediately I can see her gesture to the sound tent to raise her mic. At the actual festival is was not as bad as the video depicts it to be. Definitely not great overall because the placement of the sound tent was not smart at all. They should have been in the crowd, they have this capability easily as they had a riser for spot lighting toward the back of the crowd. Or at the very least have a sound person in the crowd and not be basing what they are hearing on the stage. I will say in the sound tents defense they have to switch band almost instantly, and each band has different needs based on genre and at the main stage at this event the genre's were all over the place so I can understand how meeting those needs with such a fast turn over can be difficult.

It's so aggravating when the backing tracks are louder than the performers. I don't have a big problem with backing tracks, just don't have them dominating the mix

She’s not lip syncing that’s just backing vocals . Jen also sings high pitch its harder to sing louder when you sing high like that. The sound guys also do terrible at amplifying the mike . These festivals are cheap too it’s the same way at winter jam. They don’t have worlds most amazing equipment at festivals but if you go to a concert it’s better. Jen still RULES and is amazing! 🤟✌️❤️

kinda sad to see her partially lip singing some of the songs. but it makes sense she doesn't have a low end vocal.
she is pretty bad at lip singing honestly but I love ledger. She puts the mic right next to her mouth to cover her mouth when she is lip singing
Agentsix1 at first I thought she was lip syncing but it’s just the background vocals. They’re to loud. She’s actually singing tho.
went and saw her live with skillet at the end of last month. She is 100% sure lip singing on at least a few songs. If you watch some of her first live videos you will note she is super quiet and can barely hear her singing. At some point to compensate for her quiet singing at some points they added a backing track and vocals track during those parts to make the concert experience a bit better. In no way am I knocking her. Its just something to be noted.
I agree! But I can say that playback was played because she was moving and jumping a lot every second, haha. She looked very happy, and that would be the reason, because singing and jumping is very tired. Also, sound guys were so bad, her mic didn't sound well and playback music sound louder than her voice. Anyway, Jen is amazing and very very beautiful and admirable. Hope some day, I can see her alive in her solo proyect. It would be amazing!
regardless of what I have said. She is still worth seeing her live! She tends to do at least 1 or 2 songs with skillet. So you always have that choice! Good luck.
All of her vocals in this video are 100% live, bud. Her mic was way too low so the backing tracks cut through more than her actual voice. But she does sing everything.

She's awesome, the mix guys really make a terrible work. But Jen, You need to Control your Air when You Sing. Tou have a great Voice, but You Lost so much Air in your jump and runs. Try It, i'm certain your performance Will be so much better!
wow. worst sound engineers i've seen.... first, the guy at the very beginning is shouting at the audience instead of using a mic (can only assume because it didnt work) and why do they have her monitor mix going through the mains?? her confidence track telling her what song is next isnt supposed to be heard by the audience. amateurs. :(
I saw both them on Saturday and Skillet's sound guy does her sound. He must of not been at this festival because he is great! They probulay had another Uprise sound guy that didn't really know what to do tbh.
She's a better singer than drummer.
