Is SOCD Cheating in Valorant?

I tried Wooting's alternative to Razer's Snap Tap called SOCD! I don't think it's cheating but I have seen arguments for both sides so what do you think?

i came from cs, and counter strafing can hurt you by over moving. Still working on not counter strafing, but realizing the games ALOT easier when you learn how to just let go of your key and shoot.
It’s not placebo and it’s not cheating. It’s like 250hz to 1000hz mouse pulling rate. Just no one wanted to make it a thing on keyboards because companies didn’t care and only wanted to sell “ gamer keyboards” “ no just slap some rgb on it and color the switch blue call it gx blue switches. Or purple linear “ like let’s be real for a singular second. Making movement more accurate is not cheating changing the foundation of movement keys is not cheating. It’s just potent as 540hz monitors r to 60hz monitor gamers And trust me the amount of gamers with 144hz monitors and greater is smaller then 25% of all gamers. Weather it’s cuz they r unaware or cant spend money on a new screen or laptop gamers, hardware limited. Overall the only ppl upset r the ones who mastered keyboard movement and now have to compete with new gen movement and new lower skill ceiling which doesn’t change the authenticity of it at all. It’s kinda be like wow u have paddle shifters? My clutch is better bc I can move the gears on my stick shift car. Then get gapped on the quarter mile And And act petty about it. It’s just simple advancement. There’s even new shifting system actually by bmw the you pull the stick back and it shifts up like regular shifting on a manual. Which is crazy how movement tech is advancing in many different tech industries. The future is looking good
Yeah I don’t think it’s cheating but I’ve seen CSGO pros say that it’s cheating. I do see the other side as people have said this was able to be done with a script but that was bannable
A keyboard using a script to press keys for you or unpress keys for you is most definitely cheating. It’s like saying aimbot isn’t cheating because it “makes aiming more accurate”
@@Agentfirestarter It technically doesn't have to be software or a script; its possible to gain the same effect with the actual hardware of the keyboard. Are relays, logic encoders, latches, logic gates cheating? If its possible to design the motherboard electronics i.e. hardware in a way that achieves the same outcome as what's know as a null-bind/script/snap-tap. Is it really cheating? Anyone who's taken a computer engineering course in higher education could create a keyboard that "press keys for you or unpress keys for you". Claiming that a simple action which causes one switch to gain priority logic over another is cheating or no different than aimbot is quite ridiculous in my opinion.
@@strafeeto Allowing a keyboard to remove human error by completely ignoring a key that’s still being held down. In my opinion, is cheating. You can technically program strafing into a keyboard. You can also program trigger bot into a mouse. The argument isn’t whether “it’s a script." The argument is that the keyboard pressing or just ignoring presses is cheating.
@@Agentfirestarter What I referred to was in no way any sort of programing, I'm talking about simple physical hardware. If you want to program strafing/trigger-bot etc. you will need memory based circuits built into the keyboard, you don't need any sort of memory to add a logic gate or something similar to give priority activation to simple key presses.
Isn’t overlapping keys good? Say you’re holding d and then hold a to cancel it out and you stop, but on these keyboards you will hold d and then when a is hit you just move the other direction faster. So for counter strafing isn’t it better with normal keyboards to stop easier?
I think the problem is that it doesn’t cancel it out and it takes longer for the input to go through, so basically you’re always a few frames slower if you are overlapping. Honestly it’s not too much of a difference in Val but in CSGO it is such a big difference that they banned the use of SOCD.
I peaked Imm2, I agree with what u said, they're more drastic in other games but VAL it's a little less impactful. But by no means, is it fair compared to other regular KB 😂. I've yet to try it though let's see

Its possible to design a simple circuit on a keyboard's motherboard that does the exact same function as this script/software; something as simple as giving a switch priority or deactivation based on inputs, or lack there of is hardly cheats in my opinion.

your kinda right and wrong yes , in cs u can feel it way more , and its much more affecting it but in high elo Imoo+ if a player consistently will train with this setting on and make it some part of the gameplay it does make a difference in 1v2-3-4 fights as u can keep moving and shooting unlike jiggling that u stop for that split second but I still feel any ranks below asc it won't really affect them unlike cs

What’s cleaner? SOCD on the Wooting and Razer keyboards is not bannable

Genuine question, now how is this platform lobby ( I don’t question his gameplay, just the enemies)
HOW, Like please I am a ex cs player, who started playing val 3 months ago and hit plat last act, stuck in gold 1 round now with some players running around and one tapping everyone (this is like every match or every 2nd)
BUT HIS plat lobby they are so braindead help 🙏
I would say that for the most part these are highlights. You are not wrong though some of these lobby’s don’t feel like plat because the other team is just bad or throwing but I have games were the other team is just better or my team is tilting

@@dardijdjsj2933 when you win gunfights, the enemy player looks shitty, when you lose gunfights, the enemy looks cracked. same thing happens in radiant streamer lobbies too. he's posting clips where he won gunfights, so the enemies look really shitty because they're getting tapped. if he posted a death compilation, you'd say damn these guys you're facing don't look plat they look higher

I think I could too but my only issue is that I don't really grind the game too hard. Maybe I'll try to grind everyday if I can
