  • I got my hands on the new 5W emitters that Hank Wang has over at intl-outdoor.com . Are they worth the extra expense? In this video I find that they are brighter, but perhaps not worth the extra cost.

You're killing it with the videos, man! I can't pretend to know exactly what you are referring to all the time, but I pick up stuff in every video and enjoy what you're posting!
I just got my first real UV light, Convoy S2+, and between the ZWB2 filter and the increased output over my last little Walmart piece of junk it's a wonder I ever thought they were worth the time. Everything I ever did with one before will be so much easier now.
    Great work, Sir!

New Nichia 6W using the D4K for beefier battery might be nice of hank to offer now

I'd like to see an apples to apples comparison with filters installed on both in turbo. My reckoning is that the extra lumens of the 5W that aren't visibly much different from the 3W would end up making a noticeable difference when you filter out a considerable amount of total lumen output in the form of non-UV light.

If you got the money, get the 5W!

wondering if I got a D4K if having only 2 UV emitters would be useful for me at work. I operate a flexo printing press, and we use varnish on a lot of different products. some varnishes have optical brightening pigments that fluoresce under UV. idk if having only 2 emitters would be useful with the ambient light we have

Nice review! I have a number of Hank lights and am shopping for a pocketable 365nm UV light. I love my D4SV2 lights, but they are a bit big for the pocket. My D4V2 lights are great EDC lights but they heat up pretty quickly on high and turbo settings, much more so than the D4SV2 lights.
I'm also looking at the uvBeast V3 365nm mini (I already have a uvBeast V3 365nm but it's way too large for an EDC light). The uvBeast V3 365nm mini seems to be more of a spot light with little beam spread compared to the D4V2 mule. How hard is it to see the D4V2 mule when programming Anduril? Does the D4V2 3w vs 5w heat up like conventional emitters?
And how does the D4K mule compare to the D4V2 mule?
Edit: ordered a D4V2 mule with the 5W emitters. But I have to say that keychain UV option interests me too. ;)

What’s the best uv light on the market to find pet stains without breaking the bank?

I really like Hank’s 3W mule shown in the video. I think it’s about $65 and it’s excellent because of it’s even beam. It does have Anduril though, which is a fairly complicated interface. How do you feel about Anduril?

Do you think the 5W version make for a faster set time for UV sensitive compounds?

I would imagine so. I have no data however.

Depends how long things take to set. For the first ~10 seconds the 5w will be faster but once the light reaches max temperature it will down regulate to almost the same output as the 3w would (meaning same cure speed). Once warm the output is determined by how fast the light can keep dissipating heat.
