    You are a stay home mom, you are working! Don't let other people tell you otherwise, they have no idea (I have two young kids at home 4+7 .. thats more work than most "jobs").

    Just my 2cents worth...ANY INCOME is counted as income, even your pittance adds to the kitty. Do not downgrade your contribution to the whole. It matters!!!

    I get 100% of my full-time job earnings directly deposited into my online savings account (2.25% APY) and I live off of my part-time security job earnings, and save 60% of that income. And I buy/resell as a profitable hobby. I'm single lol.

    I love your tip about leaving the food left from a meal. We do the same thing, if they don't finish breakfast then they eat that as a morning snack, or leftover lunch for afternoon snack. Leftover dinner is saved for the next days lunch (usually for my husband and I bc it's not enough for everyone)

    I was married before and managed the household, kids and finances and also had a PT job. Not to brag but I did awesome managing it all smoothly (minus the unhappy hubby).
    My husband called it quits and so for the last few years I am working 2 jobs, with 3 kids fulltime and I am the only bread winner. This is next level but I just have to adjust to the added challenge and then I think I can do ok.

    I own 6 credit cards. I only owe $27 the I only have them to keep my credit score high. I will use a max of $30 on one pay it off right away. Then use the next one up to $30 pay it off. And I keep rotating just the $30 to keep them active and it gives you a perfect credit score. My highest credit line is $2500 I have never maxed them out. I also have a savings account and I stick to using my debit card. Now that being said my fiancé opposite but we are working on it.

    • @JolieUTU

      Credit cards don't contribute to keeping your credit score high. Better to take out a small personal bank loan & pay it right back. Score will jump up!

    We have a 3k credit limit so we can spend 1k without derogatory marks. We dont spend anywhere near that per month but now we dont get negative marks on our credit. It seems once you go past the 30% spot, the credit bureaus see it as you're living beyond your means even though you're not.

    It makes a difference how much ur living expenses are and how much you bring in and ages of ur kids. We are a family of 7 living off of 60k a year with rent being 1525 a month. I’m constantly having to use a portion of our savings to buy diapers and wipes for 3 babies. (Can’t wait til they are all potty trained) so I can save money on that. But we usually save 700-800 a month but then baby essentials are needed and we have to take from it, so until they are 2 I don’t see where we will have much breathing room before that.

    Is it possible to have a non minimalistic life in Ontario (not in Toronto or major cities) with single income of 3000CAD after tax per month. By non minimalistic I mean I need a basic car, 1 bedroom apartment (not a basement) and NO eating out or any expensive entertainments. We have 2 kids, one school going kid and one infant. I don think that you can compare the two (USA? and Canada). Our Tax burden is gigantic, but it is how the health care system is paid for. Now with an aging population and bad times right now + ahead of us, things will get worse, especially for the middle class.

    • @RedScareClair
      @RedScareClair 2 года назад

      To be fair, the husband probably gets a good chunk of taxes taken out. That being said, they are still probably coming out ahead compared to if they were in the US.

    • @RedScareClair
      @RedScareClair 2 года назад

      @@fabiancanada8876 maybe but in America you literally have to pay for everything yourself anyway. I left the workforce this month to take care of our daughter. My husband is of course getting his normal taxes taken out, his retirement money, and now an additional 700 bucks a month to cover me and my daughter.
      If I kept working but paid for day care it would easily be 1200 bucks a month for an infant. That wasn't really an option for us as anyway she was born very early and day cares are germ bombs. So I looked at nanny/sitter services and they were asking 20-25 bucks an hour.
      No matter how you slice it, you're either paying for things directly or collectively through taxes.

      Daycare for 3 kids under school age is way more than $750 per month. If the child is under 2 years of age, daycare can cost $1000-1500 per child depending on where you live (unless you qualify for subsidy).

    • @MarlaAycho
      @MarlaAycho  5 лет назад +22

      Ice distroyer that is EXTREMELY rude. Daycare here (a good and safe one) is almost $1500/month for 3 kids only 3 days a week! THAT IS INSANE! By the time I work and pay into CPP, EI and taxes i would come home with $100 if that? Not worth the stress to me. Also, my degree cannot get me a job in area. i'd need to travel to the city (over an hour away) for any work in sciences. SO I would have to get a minimum wage paying job with shitty and unflexible hours to make pennies.
      I started my own business as a holistic nutritionist and work from home, have 2 youtube channels, an online store and taking care of 3 kids.... so am deifnitley not a freeloader.
