Much of my career has been as a Creative Director in direct response advertising, so I don't so much like or dislike ads as judge whether I think they're effective in generating the desired response. No question that this :120 gets and keeps your attention, and delivers a lot of information (I don't think many men have ever seen the result of a mastectomy as shown in the spot). But I'd want to know how many clicks it got, since that's what's being requested at the end.
This is insulting and ridiculous. We need to save LIVES not breasts. Sexualizing a disease is so disturbing. And what about the people who have had their breasts removed due to cancer? Does that make them less of a person because they lack breasts? You want to raise awareness? For what? How is this disturbing add raising awareness? When you donate money to raise awareness, where does that money go?
Awareness and early detection of breast cancer does save lives, even though it may involve a mastectomy. As for "removal of breasts" (via a mastectomy), many women who undergo that surgery do indeed feel as though they're less of a woman because of it; so please do your research on the subject before you start ranting. This ad raises awareness because breast cancer, a significant killer of women, is a sensitive topic for many, and simply to mention breasts-let alone show them-is frowned on or prohibited in quite a few countries (like the USA, for example, where women's nipples may not be shown on broadcast media). This TV spot cleverly gets around censorship by substituting talking mouths for nipples; it's dramatically attention-getting without appealing to prurient interest. If you had taken a moment to click on the link adjacent to the name of the video's poster, you'd see that donations go to an Argentinian non-profit organization, the Movimiento Ayuda Cáncer de Mama. www.macma.org.ar/quienes-somos
Believe me, there are stranger 'modifications'/interpretations of the (adult) female body out there and, as 'twisted' as it may sound, I would welcome (almost) every one of them, particularly in 'prime-time'/adult animation. ^_^ In the absence of competent political, corporate and even religious 'leadership' thanks to the election/appointment of selfish manchildren to the aforementioned positions of power, (more) entertaining distractions from the nightmare we call 'reality' would be a (however temporary) alternative to kicking 'Atlas' in the crotch. In our so-called 'modern society', misogyny comes in many forms - the kind that relegates 'oddball' female characters to the role of sidekick in (far too) many animated series (among other media) needs to end. (If Daria Morgendorffer, Kim Possible or, hell, the female cast of Downtown can make strong and/or smart sexy, I say bring it on) **goes back to admiring pin-ups of Buzzsaw Girl**
+ChainsawGene Leave your political views at home, and third wave feminism in the closet. The message was nice, and it brings people to donate. But once you begin about your feminist bullcrap, don't forget. They're ACTUALLY censoring the raise prostate awareness campaigns despite the numbers being equally frequent. We have both female, and male sidekicks. Female, and male protagonists. And only middle class girls complain about a bad representation or undervalued role. Which is given to both genders. So stop spoiling a good intended message with your own political views.
With all due respect, Zeblackcat, I don't think that one needs to be a feminist or even **female** to grow tired of the 'same old same mold'. The number of series featuring male characters with gadgets/talents/superpowers saving the world/universe (if not warping it to his desires) has made the medium boring/cliche over the last few decades. -_-U While there **are** exceptions to the aforementioned 'rule' - series like *Avatar*, *Ruby Gloom*, *Creepie* and *Downtown* have diverse, well-written casts; *Packages from Planet X* keeps Amanda active/in the loop - they are few and far between. 9_9 But feel free to prove me wrong. ^_^ One of the reasons that I enjoy exploring video sites like RUclips is the discovery of (relatively) new, classic and/or obscure animated series/shorts. If there are other examples that think outside the [Boys Only] box, feel free to let me know. They won't change my view of the medium (right away) but they may better educate me (and others) about the types of entertainment available. Believe me, we could **all** use a little (more) reward for bearing/resolving the problems/tribulations plaguing our (crapsack/deteriorating) world. **goes back to writing his own 'wish-fulfillment' fluff**
Yeah, but I'm tired of feminists blaming it on the medium rather than natural sellection. If you don't like something, vote with your wallet. The new Ghostbusters movie wasn't the solution, don't force females into a movie just because you think they're not getting the types of roles you want. You think us males being used like chiseled model super heroes and sex objects isn't sexist? Because with that equality, I somehow don't hear girls complaining about there not being enough female sewer workers. Female construction workers, stemcell research, etc. Cherry picking the higher position jobs whilst there's a lot more in-equality in other positions. And I don't blame anyone being tired of the "Same old same mold" of garbage being produced by Hollywood. But you're blaming and using the wrong medium. You said it yourself, it takes the more independend creators like those on youtube to create diversity, whilst big company's like Hollywood are motivated by money, and the same old mold sells... so vote with your wallet. If you want a good story, try a book. And if you really must see a movie, try foreign movies or independend producers instead of blaming everyone of misogony and sexism. I can HIGHLY suggest "The Millennium Trilogy" and for godsake, don't watch the American remake. Also things like "Pan's Labyrinth" and "Hard Candy." Honestly, with the amount of great stuff out there, most "feminists" are just cherry picking their bullshit from low hanging fruit to push their own sexist agenda against men. And I have a hard time apologizing when you only adresses "In our so-called 'modern society', misogyny comes in many forms." Then I will call out on feminist bullshit. I'd gladly point you towards countries like Afghanistan if you want a misagonistic example. The fact that countries like those are being ignored so you can assume the ignorance of "the voice for all of womanhood" and complain about your third world problems on a video about breast cancer is just pure irony. Especially when the funding towards breast cancer is 2 to 3 times as much as that of prostate cancer. Whenever fighting a case in court on custody over the children, it almost by default is decided in the womans favour. Maternity leave. And I can go on. Nor do we have these kinds of campaign videos. And I don't mind that, I was quite enjoying the silly humour of this for what it is, a clever way to call attention to a disease. I'm just saying leave the feminist agenda and politics out. Also adding to that irony from your youtube favourites; Asian Japanese Woman turned into a Doll Sexy Robot Girls Bouncing Boobs xD [/proving wrong] So stop being offended for others when you are not living their lives, but rather quoting a very small and limited mindset that is being echoed over and over. It's just simply false, and easy to prove wrong on so many levels like the 911 conspiracy.
Trust me, there is no 'normal', only aspects of Life and the internet that we've individually grown comfortable with. (Then again, if reality matched/surpassed our (happiest/most twisted) fantasies, would we really be able to improve on it?)
I'm throwing this on the main comments so it isn't hidden in a reply. There are studies out that have concluded that the early detection campaign has not caused any significant drop in deaths due to metastatic breast cancer, which is the only type of breast cancer that kills. Around 30% of early stage breast cancers will become metastatic. Where is the metastatic awareness campaign? Early detection can also lead to over treatment of cancers that may have otherwise never become life threatening. I think at this point in modern society we are all quite aware that breast cancer exists. It is one of the more marketable types of cancer. Teaching people how to do self exams is surely a good idea to encourage. Though that does not necessarily mean that a cancer will be found in an earlier stage. It just means it might be found, and could still be fatal. I still do not approve of using comical breasts as a way to raise awareness about cancer. I find it dehumanizing. I still find it quite appalling to sexualise and make light of a serious disease. The majority of comments on here focus on the sexualising, and not on the message they were trying to promote. If this non-profit uses their donations to fund research or assist current cancer patients, thats great. So much money is spent in raising awareness that could have otherwise gone to more useful avenues of support. Just as breast and nipples are censored in media, so are post mastectomy photos, and reconstruction photos. Instagram and Facebook have a long history of banning such photos and shutting down the accounts of breast cancer advocates. That is a hindrance to the cancer community as it looks for support and validation in body changes and treatment options. Lets get some focus and research on metastatic breast cancer! We need better long term treatment options. We need to count these people in statistics so that funding can find its way towards them. It is the only type of breast cancer that kills. Lets be aware of that.
Can I see the MALE version of this for testicular and prostate cancer please??? I mean, doesn’t everybody love C##k?? (See - I can’t even SAY the WORD C##k here without censorship!!!) The world is sexist AGAINST MEN!!!
Boobs are not genitals from wich you urinate or reproduce. They arent genitals. I mean testicular cancer and prostate cancer are terrible on their own but that was a weak comparison.
I'm a 35+ year ad agency veteran, and I'm…speechless.
So did you like it or not?
Much of my career has been as a Creative Director in direct response advertising, so I don't so much like or dislike ads as judge whether I think they're effective in generating the desired response.

Well, that's a great ad for anticancer donations! It is that simple: if you love boobs, take care of them.
I try to clean them with my tongue every chance I get.
Beverly: You've lead a really interesting life, haven't you?
Duckman: And what a long, strange trip it's been.
I can never unsee that..,
Time to get back to the normal side of youtube
Trust me, there is no 'normal', only aspects of Life and the internet that we've individually grown comfortable with.
