I live 30 minutes from where the film was made. The boardwalk is called Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, where US, Bumblebee and Sudden Impact were filmed too.
Lost boys is a 1987 vampire horror classic that also has one of the best soundtracks to a movie. And I remember renting lost boys on VHS at the video store back in 1988. But don't waste your time on watching the two garage sequels to the lost boys
The Lost Boys is one of the first vampire movies I remember loving as a kid, along with Blade, and I still love them to this day. My favorite scenes in The Lost Boys are when David offers Michael the rice/maggots and also when Sam is singing in the bathtub while Nanook keeps him company. ❤️ 🧛🏻♂️🥡🥢 🧑🏻🎶🛁🐶
My mom showed me this movie when i was 11 and it has been my favorite vampire movie since. Cant think of a single vamp movie that comes close to being this fun and awesome for me. Not even Blade.
Cool horror trivia for you, Jason Patric's dad is Jason Miller (Father Damien from The Exorcist) and his brother is the kid vampire from Near Dark. A regular family of horror! Nice review.
I love this movie, it really was a big deal back in 1987, every horror fan wanted to see it.The fantastic song that Gerald McMahon sang Cry Little Sister was a hit, and that song really helped push the films success even further. Two lame sequels followed but only the original movie counts for me

@@verisimilitude8660 I like how everyone loves fright night. But it is funny that nobody talks about the sequel to fright night. Witch I think is a very good sequel to the classic fright night & i am guessing hardly any of you die hard fright night fans have seen fright night 2 ? All I am saying if you have not seen fright night 2 then you should check it out. Bc fright night 2 is actually a pretty good sequel to the original classic fright night & worth seeing
To me the “Cringe” of 80’s cinema or really anything that is dated in that way is half the fun. Every movie is a document of the time it’s made in whether the filmmakers are aware of that or not and the hair/clothes in this movie are entertaining to look at in their own right lol.
@@marriedwithmedia I know you will love it, it's so well directed (Francis Ford Coppola), won three Academy Awards. I don't own the 4k but I prob will at some point.
Wow if this is cringe, 80s movies must be hard for you to watch. It’s an irreverent fun classic in the vein of Monster Squad or the Goonies! Btw, the saxophone player proves the old adage that there are no small roles only small actors!
Lost Boys > Fright Night & Near Dark.
Also, the practical effects have aged so damn well.
I did like Lost Boys more than Fright Night!

We already knew Ken hated the Lost Boys. He prefers Twilight.
🤣
Do you ever have anything nice to say? Just curious.
That was dumb.
Saxophone guy is why everyone loves lost boys. Don’t let them fool you folks. 😂

That’s cool, thanks for the fun fact!
One of my favorite movies! I try to watch it every Halloween season. Love the 2 Corey’s. And the soundtrack is a banger!
This would be in my top 10 movies of the 80’s. Of any genre.
Totally get that!
Lost Boys is definitely in my Top 10 vampire movies. This movie was huge with us teenagers in the 80’s.
I’m sure it was!

I saw it opening weekend at the theatre. We all enjoyed it.
Awesome!
Seeing this just makes me miss the monthly audits...

Enjoyed review, but I still rank Bram Stoker's Dracula as hands down best vampire movie.
I still need to see it! -Michelle

Yes, exactly! 😂
I think it’s an ok vampire movie. I’ll probably rewatch it a few more times in my life. But I don’t get the hype 😬
