It's incredibly convenient to have all household items provided in the rented EU houses. Imagine having to repurchase everything after paying rent - quite a hassle!😅
If they introduce it in naija you won't want to pay rent equivalent price in Nigeria and will use those properties carelessly and even destroy or remove some when leaving. Most Naija respect law and become discipline when they travel
@@alexconfidence2354 Well, your opinion is valid. However, there are systems in place here that ensure the safety of rental properties. You will sign a lease which also includes the house inventory and conditions of the appliances as at when you move in and these will be checked at the expiration of your lease. If these measures are in place even in Naija, no one will dare be careless with their landlord’s property, because you will pay heavily.
For me the difference is tenants are enjoying and cheating landlords in Nigeria, most Nigerians won't want to live in the size of the rooms they live in Europe in Nigeria, also same many Nigerians that appreciates and cherish a furnished apartment will destroy, damage or use roughly those properties if it were in Nigeria. The government is very involved in housing and renting in Europe unlike in Nigeria where the government don't care. For me I think the system in Europe and UK should be brought to Nigeria for some discipline, there is too much enjoyment and power to tenants in Nigeria unlike Europe. The annual rent payment in Nigeria is robbery on the landlords and very impractical, because the monthly rent of a bedspace in Europe is more than the annual rent of most 3 big bedroom flat in Nigeria.
I do not agree that “many” Nigerians who appreciate furnished apartments abroad will damage such properties if they were back home. I believe that a reckless person is a reckless person whether home or abroad. There are cases of rough-handling furniture here and that has resulted in deposit forfeitures. Also, regarding the cost of renting both ways, many factors are at play and the average cost of living is a big part of it. And yes, the government is involved in housing here, there are laws and guidelines principles, your lease is legally binding and must be registered on the government website, it’s not some random agreement. In summary, Nigeria needs to do better with renting and housing as a whole.

The differnces are very clear. That EU contract must be read word for word if you don't want issues as a tenant.

Exactly, and the cost of moving and fitting household appliances is another inconvenience.
