      Yes the locals are very friendly in my experience 😊 and thoughtful too, I had a neighbor that offered to drive me to the hospital when my toddler had a fever.

      Unfortunately the visa processes in Malta have changed quite a lot in the past year, but for work you generally need to get a job offer willing to sponsor and the employer will take it up from there.

    I had a little trouble with the law 15 years ago , 7 years cleared on dbs check uk, do i need to disclose this. Plenty of proof of being a good citizen since, i had a mental breakdown 15 years ago and got arrested. Pleasure listening to the information you give, thank you 😊

So can also visit quiet gardens like San Anton’s if you’d not mind the outdoors. I’m not near the St Paul’s Bay Area, I currently live close to the south 😊

      Hello thank you for subscribing. Students are generally allowed to work 20 hours a week. I know a lot of students who have been able to make it work when it comes living expenses. It will require to make some adjustments for instance apartment sharing as opposed to renting alone, etc.

      You can survive as a student life very easily however have to budget properly and sacrifice a few things...

    Thanks for the info! I’m in the process of getting ready to move to Malta so this is a really helpful perspective.
    Another plus that I never even considered before I visited… no hayfever!
    I love the sun and warm weather but during the three short months of “summer” here in Scotland I have a constant lowkey headache and sinus pain, even with medication. The weeks I spent in Malta- that is the best I’ve felt in many many years as I had no winter-blues OR allergy symptoms.
    Coming back to Scotland afterwards the abundant greenery spilling out of every corner feels excessive honestly 😂 Don’t get me wrong it is beautiful here and somebody with no pollen allergy can fully appreciate it but for me, rocky and dusty is the ideal!

      I haven’t personally experienced any form of discrimination as a black person living in Malta. However, I cannot speak for how persons of color are treated in workplaces, as I am a digital nomad working fully remote. In general I think the locals here are very friendly, respectful, and welcoming.

      It is true that the cost of accommodation has gone up in the last 1-2 years, however this hasn’t happened in Malta alone.
      Also, you can still find affordable accommodation especially if you’re open to sharing.
      And I do not think Malta is cold, especially when compared to other European countries.

      We are full, relocate somewhere else please..its a total mess with traffic jams, pollition, electricity cuts, over population, high rents, low wages, tcn abuse , chopping of trees to build more appartments , drainage in sea, its chaos !!! Why here man?? We are honestly full..how much more load can this tiny rock handle???

    Not many cons. For that reason getting permenant residence is not easy. If you're not an EU citizen I suggest you seek legal advice from an expert.

    Con number 4 is the most painful. There’s literally construction going on upstairs and it’s quite annoying.

      We are full man . Catholics, muslims, buddist...doesnt matter. We are ovwrloaded, the infrastructure is collapsing, rubbish everywherw, drainage in the sea...try someqhere else man..this tiny rock cannot handle any more ppl. Locals are asking for resignations because of the mess the politicians got is in. We are full and fed up with immigration problems. Check our local news

    Malta is overrated, overcrowded, a complete traffic chaos. Though it really is a wonderful small island, people 2.500 B.C. seemed to be more modern, than the people living here today. Folks, get your traffic chaos solved. E.g. Barcelona doesn’t have this traffic chaos. Sorry for saying this: Malta no thank you!!!

      There are pros and cons to living anywhere. However, I do not think that Malta is overrated, it all depends on what’s important to you as an individual. Even though some parts of Malta are overcrowded, there are still quaint and quiet neighborhoods with less inhabitants, even Gozo is a delight if you want to be away from the crowd and traffic.
