    Imou or Dahua cameras need to be connected to the POE switch? Are they not ONVIF ready? Can you directly connect them through wifi?

      Imou and Dahua are ONVIF ready cameras. You can connect them directly through wifi or LAN.

      Yes, it's possible to connect different NVR and camera brands. TP-Link and Hikvision support ONVIF.

      Your CP Plus NVR must support 4MP for it to work. Check your NVR specs online.

      @JJ.A.C-TECH.  Год назад +1

      Yes And No
      Yes, you can still use
      if LAN configuration is possible
      Example:
      Point-to-Point Network
      Wired Network
      No, you can't use
      if the cameras are so far
      and LAN configuration is not possible.
      Example:
      Cameras are placed on different continents or countries.

    Why do we need to have PoE switch for WiFi camere setup?

    • @JJ.A.C-TECH.
      @JJ.A.C-TECH.  Год назад

      Use PoE if your WiFi camera has LAN ports that support wired setup.

      @@JJ.A.C-TECH. What if I would like to use Wifi cameras with ONVIF (eg. VIGI C540-W)? Do I need PoE in such case? I prefer to use Wifi and repeaters with EasyMesh over placing 100m of Cat5 cable.

    • @JJ.A.C-TECH.
      @JJ.A.C-TECH.  Год назад

      You will need PoE for powering the cameras; otherwise, use the 12 volt DC coaxial if supported.
      PoE can support data and power. but in your case, you will use PoE for power only.

    • @tacomaliciouso
      @tacomaliciouso Год назад

      because PoE means, Power over Ethernet. So the ethernet cable can also power "ON" the camera which saves the hassle of having wiring for electrical power.

    Hi, is PoE switch compulsory for this NVR when using with Tapo Wifi Cameras or can I directly connect this NVR with Router?

    • @JJ.A.C-TECH.
      @JJ.A.C-TECH.  Год назад

      You need a separate POE switch for the cameras.
      because the NVR has only 1 Ethernet port.

      Check your camera to see if it's ONVIF-supported. If it's ONVIF-supported, then yes, it's compatible.
