Before I was an Engene, I'm a big fan of figure skating. Watching Cha Junhwan performing off-ice on stage is something I never expected and he's very impressive! It's like two of my worlds collided before my eyes and I never dreamed this would happen. Sunghoon and Junhwan did so wonderful!

I always see the comments under Enhypens dance practice videos and rarely find any comments about Sunghoons flowing and sharp dance moves, which I find a little sad because he mostly only gets seen as the “handsome one” in the group and often doesn’t get appreciated for his dancing nor singing skills. All of Enhypen are very talented but I think that we shouldn’t only talk about one person in every choreography or song they publish because in the end they all are working hard and not just the one that is currently shining. I am very happy to see Sunghoons dancing get so appreciated in this video because I think more people need to see his talent.❤(this comment isn’t here to offend anyone but is just a comment where I wanted to show my appreciation.)

This was so amazing to see. As an avid figure skating fan since 2018 Pyeongchang and with Sunghoon being my ult bias, I was so surprised and delighted to see this performance. I always wanted to see Sunghoon and Junhwan interact again. The old pictures of them from novice competitions are too cute for this world. Also, anyone who is sleeping on Sunghoon's talent needs to see this. Major props as well to Junhwan, he is seriously multitalented (he can also sing). this performance became even more beautiful when i realised 'Black Swan' represents the fear of falling out of love with one's artistic passion...an artist's first death. the sheer amount of fear and doubt sunghoon must have felt leaving behind the art he'd spent his whole childhood doing, to pursue his passion of music and the extraordinary goal of becoming an idol...it truly breaks my heart, especially knowing that he grew up on the ice and junhwan was right there beside him. every element of this performance is almost a reflection of sunghoon's life; junhwan a mirror of his figure skating days with more elegance and subtlety to his moves, and sunghoon a representation of his present self with sharper, bigger, more expressive moves. they even execute these on opposing sides, barely ever reflecting each other, and this only attests to how different their lives now are after going their separate ways to pursue their heart's desires. at 0:47 we see junhwan essentially 'kill' sunghoon, push him down, support him back up and push him away. this part in particular made me tear up because the pain experienced by both performers is so incredibly palpable, with sunghoon dying his 'first death' and losing a major part of his childhood, and junhwan painfully sending off his friend into another dimension of art, onto a pathway of new beginnings and inevitable hardship. these hardships are brought to life at 1:00, where we see sunghoon reach out multiple times as if to explore a world beyond what he has known, only to be held back by junhwan who pulls his hand back down at each attempt. at this point it's clear to sunghoon that music is what he wants to pursue, that his inner fire now burns brighter for it than it does for figure skating. but junhwan's restraints show that the struggle doesn't end there; obstacles now come in the form of crippling self-doubt, fear, insecurity, thoughts that perhaps he shouldn't pursue music at all and stick to his strengths. as someone who has been through and dealt with the insecurity of diverging wants and desires, i know how scary and hard it can be to push past that voice of doubt, to see a light at the end of the tunnel, and this move brings these feelings to life in such a beautiful way. it means so much to know that sunghoon was able to follow his calling, to find the courage and show up for himself no matter what. because if he hadn't, if he had listened to that voice of doubt, he wouldn't have had the chance to be where he is now, brightening so many people's lives, bringing so much happiness and so many more smiles to the world. i really could go on and on about how nuanced and stunning this performance is, but i won't lmao. i must say, however, that although i believe this performance is aimed to highlight sunghoon's incredible struggles and feats as an artistic individual, we cannot forget how beautifully junhwan has performed. i can only imagine how different, new, and perhaps even difficult, such an experience would have been for him a lifelong ice skater. but everything, from his expressions to his moves and the grace with which he executed them, truly stunned me in all the best ways. i want to applaud him and thank him for all his hard work, especially taking time out of his schedule to perform for engenes alongside his friend. to anyone reading this, thank you! i'm honoured that you made it this far. i just want to remind you that you can overcome any struggle, no matter how big or small, as long as you believe in yourself. it's a lot easier said than done, but it is doable. and the evidence lies in the form of the very special person in this video :)
