I was extremely careful to match the dimensions of the handle, blade, and metal fittings. I was also worried that I might accidentally step on the metal fittings that I dropped.

Gorgeous. I wonder how long it takes to become so precise with cutting out pieces by hand. I've done it a few times, and it always needs quite a lot of file work to clean up. Meanwhile, his looks basically in finish condition right from the saw.
I think the Corrupted Monk actually uses a nagamaki rather than a naginata. Oh sure she definitely wields it like a naginata, but the blade is the same length as the shaft which is characteristic of the nagamaki.
