Hi from Atlanta Ga . I 1st started making wreaths when I retired from medicine. I was sell locally by word of mouth. I was asked to make a gravesite arrangement. She knew I hadn't made one before. She's been patient in each one. I believe I've gotten better but shape I've been missing on. So thank you so much for this video . I took a class from the lady that teaches thousands of people a month month and we have 2 to 3 live classes via Facebook a a week sometimes guest teachers between a wreath, a swag and arrangement. We've had a couple grave saddle but I've learned more from your videos and how to get my shape in this hour than in the two years that I've beentaken these classes. So I appreciate it greatly. I'm so glad I stumbled on your page. I see you haven't posted in 10 months. It'd be wonderful to see more from you to gain more knowledge from you. I hope you're doing wonderful up in the Shenandoah Valley. It's beautiful up there.
Thank you so much. I have been in the process of moving my shop and have not had time to do any. We are now finally in and hopefully I can get started on making videos. Thank you for your kind words. Be sure to follow so that once I do make another video you will get notified.🥰🌸
First time watcher from Mississippi. I'm new to this and dont have a pick machine. I've tried the wooden picks with the wire on the end but it is very time consuming since its a new skill. You are explaining so clearer and thoroughly I think I might can make 3 vases for a friend's parents graves.

Your welcome! Hello Deborah from Alabama. Let me know if you have anything you want to see a video about related to silk or fresh. I’m just starting to create videos. I will be posting one soon on a tombstone topper silk arrangement.🌸
Watching from Southern West Virginia...You are such a wonderful instructor. Thank you so much for the great information. I'm very new to this, and you have been a great help.
Hello from California. First time I'm going to do this for a friend. Thank you so much for all the step by step instructions, especially for a beginner. I most definitely will follow your instructions when I make mine. Thank you again🌞

Hi there from South Carolina. I have been trying to learn different ways to do the vase for my parents' grave. I love the way you explain for folks who are not as talented as you are when making arrangements. Love Virginia. I have family in Virginia as well as West Virginia. Beautiful up there. Thanks for helping us out. I enjoy making them myself.
Hi Pamela, from South Carolina! Thank you. I appreciate your compliment. Yes, it is definitely beautiful here in Virginia. We get to enjoy all four seasons. A little snow now little rain a little wind and some sunshine. If you’re ever up this way feel free to stop in and say hi.
Alabama here.. I’m what I call a shade tree designer.. My mom was a floral designer , I wasn’t interested in learning when she was doing it.. Now she’s not with us and I have so many questions to ask… I do all cemetery work for my immediate family and several for friends.. I enjoy watching and listening to you..
Enjoyed your demonstration very much, I do cemetery sprays, and try wreaths but they don’t seam to sale, I have regular customers , will go check out your webpage , ,
Thank you so much for doing this video. So many of them out there only touch on the saddles and not the other types for cemeteries. Would love to see more of the different types, hearts, crosses, using the metal stands, metal frames all with tips how to make them more modernized. What about ribbons? How do you make sure those stay in place outside? Total newbie here who has to now decorate 8 graves in IL. Thanks again!!
Hi, I absolutely enjoyed your video and the way you give your instructions!! Very easy to follow, very informative, and very clear! I love the flower arrangement it is so pretty!! I have made a few of these for cemeteries but I am trying to get better at it! Be question I do have is where did you purchase your silk greenery that you layered in first? If you don’t mind me asking.
Jolene, I really enjoyed watching this video. Thank you for making it and the instructions were perfect. The only thing was on my end I didn't get to see the end result, the video cut off. Do you have a picture or anything that you can show us how it looked in the end or even the cemetery cone itself. Thanks again!
Hi Becky! Yes, I drive from Va to Rockingham NC, to a guy that sells for May’s Wholesale. Unfortunately, he does not have a website to order from. He does travel to flower shops in North Carolina and Virginia. However, it’s limited stuff on the truck, so I find it better to just drive down myself and get a van load when I go and I can visually see everything he has and pick what I want.
Are you asking how to attach a cross into a floral spray? Like a tombstone topper or a standing spray? Or are you asking how to make a cross that is a spray?
@@DarleneMoore-fu9djoh ok, I have takes a bridal bouquet holder or a small foam cage and put styrofoam in it and attach with either floral wire around the center of the cross or zip ties and then add the flowers. That way you can change out the flowers for each season and it is not permanently attached to the cross.
I get my (Silks) from all around. Simms pottery, Mays Wholesale, direct, Floral, hobby lobby, local craft stores. I use different types of flowers for different arrangements so I like to get a variety. Some silks are better for cemetery and some are better for home arrangements.
I looked at your website. You do absolutely beautiful work. I am a retired florist but I still do some silk work. If you don’t mind, would you give the height and width Of the arrangement that you are doing? My location is Star, North Carolina
Thank you! Oh wow, I did not measure, however if I had to guess, I would say from the top of the Styrofoam cone, approximately 20-24" tall, and approximately 14-16" wide. Maybe a little bigger. Sometimes I make them smaller, especially if a customer brings in a small vase and I make it directly in the vase after inserting a small piece of Styrofoam.
Thank you for this video. Several years ago, i was looking for these types of videos but couldn't really find any. I want to start making arrangements for my parents' grave and to sell. I'm researching sources for flowers, and I'm curious as to why you get your florals from Michael's or Hobby Lobby and not a wholesaler? Also, I'm in NE Georgia.
I source my silks from several different places. I do occasionally use Michaels and hobby lobby when they are on sale and I get some from the wholesalers if I’m in a pinch where I get my fresh flowers and then also I have a place in North Carolina that I go.🌼🌿
Hello, watching from Florida. Where do you get your beautiful high quality leather leaves from? If you don't mind, mine are flimsy and cheap looking LO. L Thank you for your videos
Oh my, That is interesting. I have never heard of anyone using it to pick fresh flowers. It doesn’t allow the fresh stems to drink water. You can use on greenery such as lily grass or woody stems. The pick machine was designed for picking silks to go into styrofoam. Fresh flowers (if not in a vase) can be inserted directly into wet floral foam. Never try to insert fresh flowers into styrofoam. Some people use toothpicks to insert into the backs of certain flowers to create specialty sympathy designs that is then inserted into styrofoam. Thanks for watching.
I will if a customer asks, but normally I don’t. The picks hold stems in place well enough. And we have some pretty windy times here, and my customers have never complained of them blowing apart. I put an arrangement on my son’s grave, never use glue and never had a problem. 😊
I have done that before, but I felt like it was a little messy with glue strings, and my customers have not complained about flowers falling out or blowing out. However if they do request it, I absolutely would.
Hi Linda. Great point. In the vase arrangements it does not matter because the water is inside the vase. As far as the pics in the foam for the headstone arrangements, most of our customers like to switch them out every 3 to 6 months, with the seasons or holidays. Also, I try to ensure that the pics are actually in the foam and not sticking out anywhere, so that cuts down on rust running.
Thank you for watchingIf you watch all the way through, I hold it back away from the camera and turn the arrangement around several times so you can see. The video is more about “How to “How to”. There is no “front” side, it’s an all around design. Thank you for watching. 🌸
