I did a face off.. many years ago.. back in 1988.. it was my very first mma fight and it was for a small underground promotion called "Cage Assassins" where they filmed these underground fights and put them on the internet.. and they paid fighters anywhere from $50 - $500 depending on if you won or lost.
At the promotional weigh ins and face offs.. the guy I was fighting got a little too close.. so I pushed him.. and he threw this vicious snapping front kick that caught me dead square right in the nuts!
He was wearing running shoes.. and I wasnt even wearing a cup.. and he got me good!
He dropped me right there on the stage.. right in front of EVERYBODY!
The kick was so bad I started throwing up.. it caused a lot of damage.. it severely ruptured my left testicle.. and even though they iced it for hours before the fight.. I was still unable to fight the next night.
6 weeks later they re-scheduled the fight.. and by that time I was healed up and good to go.. and looking for some revenge.. but during the fight he hit me again with an illegal nut shot that the ref didnt see.. and everything went down hill for me in the fight from there.
I was winning the fight up until that point.. but after I got that kick to the nuts.. I just wasnt the same fighter again.
I couldnt keep my hands up.. my footwork was gone.. I no longer had good head movement.. and my punches and kicks were no longer fast and crisp!
The dude really started piecing me up too.. hitting me with elbows and uppercuts.. working the body and the head.. and I could feel myself shutting down.. arms getting heavy.. moving slow.. lights going dim.. and the throbbing pain in my nutsack just woulnt go away.. then it happened.. WAP! - dude landed a flying knee to my chin that had the whole room spinning and left me with wobbly legs.. I could see the lights going dim.. everything seemed in slow motion.. that flying knee really f_cked me up!
Then in the last round.. all I remember was seeing this very intense white light.. and feeling like I just got hit in the face with a baseball bat!
He had caught me with a sweet forward front flip head kick that I didnt even see coming.. right to the face.. breaking my nose and jaw.. and putting my lights out!
I had never seen anything like that move that he landed on me that night before in my life!
I was like some kind of funky ninja flip kick.. that caught me clean.. and laid my ass out!
I got KTFO in my very first mma fight!
I woke up the next day in the hospital.. and I only ended up getting $15 for the fight.. as they threw me in a taxi unconscious and told the driver to take me to the Emergency and just leave me there.. and the cab ride to the Hospital was $35 - my opponent got $500 plus an extra $250 fight bonus for fight of the night.
That guy I fought that night actually went on to get signed by the UFC years later.. his name was Harold Howard fighting out of Niagara Falls Canada.. you can go look him up.
He actually went on to fight Royce Gracie at UFC 3 in1994.

Says on tapology he threw in the towel pre-fight vs Gracie at UFC 3 and I watched his UFC fight versus Steve Jennum and he throws one of those rolling kicks early and then loses the fight

Nah. He was never that good or exciting to begin with. He could only beat people using his eyepokes cause he was getting his as beat (lost the first round to Taleb, Perry, and many more, then started poking the eye). Ponz should have never been ranked
