BPA was invented in 1890, and its toxicity was known as early as 1930. But it continued to be commonly used despite significant findings through the earl 2000's. Now, only an idiot would use plastic in food that's not clearly labeled as BPA-free, and in many countries and states it's already banned for that use in certain areas like baby bottles. Glass and some metals are safe. We know this because it's been used with food for centuries if not millennia. Lots of plastics have only existed for a few decades; it's impossible to know yet whether they are safe. Or maybe the FDA is just lying to your face because they do that about BPA too.
Neat idea but not advisable because if you dont coat the inside of the model where foods or liquids touches with a foodgrade coating then it can contaminate the foods or the liquids with micro plastic
Most public restaurants are forced to use biodegradable straws of either paper or plastic now. Biodegradable meaning they break down. We’ve already got microplastics in us whether you like it or not (I work at a travel center in New England it ain’t just california)

You're right, most common 3d print plastics are ABS and PLA, which is not food safe. However, you can cover it with a food safe pigmented finish. You can also 3d print with food safe plastics like HDPE, but I don't think it's possible yet for a pen printer like in the video.
