Now it makes sense to not take credit cards by paying joining and annual fee. Sooner or later, all cards are becoming devalued.

It's all about Keep one card with premium benifits and spend all on that cards and get perks. Multiple Cards of entry level decrease benifts in long time. An one things this strategy is very similar to SIM One time every one have 2-5 sim and switch according to their benifit and due to LTF they never recharge. 😁 And we see how things change in telecom industry dramatically. Same things happens in Credit Card industry very soon. Best of luck folk. And i'm also disappointed on this devaluation because i have Wealth card which has access of Patna Lounge. Now spending 20k for only this It's not worth.

Now you cannot think of having cards just for lounge access. Simply speaking, the card has to be your main card with decent spends. Only then can you get the perks like lounge access. The same will happen with movie offers gradually.

Correction in your video. I'm a CV Idfc first cc holder. It's not just the air lounge minimum spend requirement change. 1% on rent and utility charges beyond 20K is also a part of the change.
Tell me one thing if I spend 50000 in one month for NPS or Medical insurance premium payment, will that also be counted as commercial usage & 1% + GST needs to be paid of top of that 50000 rupees? If that's the case , it's bad cause people would be reluctant to spend more than 20k & they won't even get the benefits of 10X reward points
Idfc wealth had four visits per quarter for domestic lounge international lounge and spa combined and not separately for domestic lounge/spa and international lounge

I was going through all your videos yesterday itself and was about to buy idfc select card. But fortunately I saw discrepancies in their offerings on website and documents and withheld the application. Today I got to know about this devaluation. This devaluation has totally destroyed a very good card Select, just as you said 125 rs discount is a waste and for lounge 20k is too much. Very disheartened. But thank you for your video, really appreciated.

If you can reach spend threshold, then axis Magnus

HDFC Regalia Gold card is a decent card with good lifestyle benefits and return (if you can use Smartbuy extensively).
Otherwise in cashback/entry level segment, Amazon Pay ICICI, Cashback SBI, HDFC Millennia, Airtel Axis, HSBC Cashback, HDFC Tata Neu Infinity, and Amex MRCC are great.
In terms of travel excluding the likes of Infinia, we have cards like Amex Plat Travel, Axis Atlas, Yes Marquee are good options.

Yesterday I got IDFC wealth card for 500 movie and lounge benefit 😅 and today is the news, this will be the second time I have closed IDFC card. IDFC, "tumse na ho payega".
Last time while closing select card, ye log mujhe bol rhe the, sir aap spend nahi krte, hum kuch retention offer nahi de payenge, iss baar to mujhe sunna he nahi hai. Bus band krdo card, bhai card me acche rewards hoge tab spend pe tab to koi spend karega. Lagta hai ab debit card is use krna padega. No hassle of calculation, chill life.

IDFC cards were already very poor in terms of reward points. There was hardly any online shopping offers. They were only good for lounge visits. Now that it's also heavily restricted, cards are virtually useless

Only Amex MRCC and platinum travel are good value for money. Plat charge is to just show off for most.
RBI should restrict banks from devaluation otherwise these banks will give very good offers for customer acquisition but devalue later.

Lounge access par jab devaluation hota hai tab sabse jada disappointment hota hai. Lounge access karne k liye koi bhi spend based criteria nahi hona chahiye.
This cannot happen. Lounge access costs the bank. Banks can’t keep giving free access to lounges without you spending anything on the card.

Me too, got Select card after much hassle, Closed Classic earlier, then tried Select , repeatedly rejected , then applied with another mo. no. Approved after physical verification, and now devalued. Can't spend ₹20000/- just for lounge access.

Devaluation of cards seems to be a good business model for the card academy channel. Everytime a company devalues it's card, they will have an opportunity to release a video about it. 🤣🤣
August 2023 taken Axis Magnus card, devalued next month and devalued again in April.
April 2024 taken IDFC Wealth card, devalued again within a month.
No luck with the cards which are known for lifestyle benefits 🥲
