Missed the live stream, so l am watching this on catch up ,good to see the TE bridge get a cameo appearance. Looking forward to the next instalment of the Yamanote line walk
Hello TE - Missed you by a couple of days as we left Shinjuku on Tuesday to return to Australia after 2 weeks in Japan. I waited on TE bridge a couple of times just in case but no luck! ☹️ Great walk this one - we went to Takadanobana one day too. Thanks as usual 🙏🏻
I was born and raised in Odawara. I am 79 years old now. When I was 7 years old that was 1951, my grand farther took me to Shinjuku. I still remember that I was surprised seeing the Shinjuku station building entirely made of wood, and the Nishi-Shinjuku area where Tokyo metropolitan government office is located now used to be the Yodobashi water purification plant from 1898 to 1965. The 56 hectare former plant site has started to change to a skyscraper district when Keio Plaza Hotel opened in 1971.
1:35:35 A year ago, in February 2023, I drove a truck down this slope to deliver brochures to a client in this building. By the way, I will drive on Kanpachi and expressway (either Tomei or Daisan-keihin) to go to a warehouse in Ikonobe-cho Yokohama in the morning tomorrow.
