There are good comments here by people. I have a lot of suggestions below, but don’t worry no spoilers, just game mechanics. Hopefully my suggestions will help you and others. Something worth noting is that crossbows are heavy and are part of your heavy load status. There’s no need to keep it equipped when not in use. You can easily un-equip it and re-equip it when needed. Additionally, you take more damage when you are heavy loaded. (Also to zoom in while aiming, PS4/5 Controller, Press and hold triangle to two hand crossbow then L1 to focus aim). Torrent is a great asset. You can collect your runes, flowers, etc while on horseback. He also really helps during fighting because it doesn’t matter then if you are heavy loaded, plus he enables quick movements around enemies. ‘Locking on’ an enemy is good and all (it keeps you facing the enemy), but it also restricts your movements, especially if there are other enemies around you. Back at the Church of Elleh you can purchase three early game key items: 1) Torch - useful in caves & catacombs (put it in the left hand so you can use your sword in right hand) Later on you’ll replace the torch with a lantern, which attaches to your belt, so you’ll have both hands free to equip weapons and a shield. 2) Crafting Kit - to make things, for example Rowa fruit can be crafted into Raisins (which restores Torrent’s health when he is hurt). 3) Cookbooks - The more you have the more things you can craft. Remember if you take health flasks before you finish off the last enemy in a group, you will get up to 3 health flasks restored upon killing the last enemy. So please refill your health bar (upper left corner of screen) BEFORE killing the last enemy. Also with respect to flasks, right now you don’t seem to be using FP (used for magic, incantations, some weapons). If you sit down at Grace, you can reallocate your one Cerulean flask to become a Crimson flask. This way you will have one more flask for HP. Don’t worry, you can always reallocate your flasks at Grace. When there’s a white ‘tombstone’ on the left of your screen, it means you can summon Spirit ashes (like the wolves) to help you fight. I’d replace the worthless Mimic Grace in your pouch with the wolves ashes so you can quickly summon them. The whetstone blade you picked up will allow you to attach ashes of war to weapons & shields allowing for additional movements. You do this at sites of grace while sitting down. You definitely should load up a talisman in your equipment area (4th row down). They too will give you added abilities. If you arrive at a white wispy wall preventing your entry into an area, put a stonesword key in the nearby gargoyle statue’s head. The wall will disappear and you can now access the area. Two handing a weapon reduces the strength required to wield it properly and increases the damage you deliver. I disagree with the comment about selling your golden runes. They are like money in your piggy bank and can really help when you are close to leveling up and are just a little short(y). 😂 Your dodging, rolling, & shield use is excellent! You are kinda rushing forward and have missed a lot in the game. Twice you rode past the obelisk with the map piece for the Weeping Peninsula without picking it up. 🤦🏻♂️ I can think of multiple missed caves in Limgrave alone. I’d suggest doing these 4 areas in in this order Limgrave, Weeping Peninsula, Liurnia, Caelid. This way the areas are commensurate to your stats, but this is an open world game and you of course free to do whatever you please. I just offer my two cents, even though you didn’t request it. I hope I haven’t offended you by offering unsolicited advice. There’s a lot more, but you can discover stuff in time. 😉 I enjoy watching you play. Good luck, happy exploring and hunting! 🙂
You are doing well. You are right about Margit, no need to rush the game, there is much to discover. Tutorial Reminder: Two handing swords is a thing to hit harder, and jump attacks are good for breaking stances. I personally have fought without pants to wield a weapon that was too heavy for me. I will be looking forward to your next drop.
You did manage to take out some difficult opponents, including the Grave Warden Duelist, but yeah the Dragon and that last Boss are going to be Very Difficult at your level, and using a +0 or +1 weapon. I'd suggest going to a Merchant (Kale at Church of Elle or Hewg at Round Table) and Selling all of your Golden Runes, or just Using them (page 2 of Inventory they're all nicely organized near the bottom of the page) to get lots of Runes and then Levelling Up your Weapon and then yourself. Also, I think you'd really enjoy experimenting with Summoning those 3 Lone Wolves. You can summon anytime there's a tombstone symbol on the left side of your screen -- I'd suggest somewhere easy first, like that first soldier encampment near the Gate. Anyways, it's been fun seeing you learn so much during this one, and get to So Much Exploring! Good luck on your next outing!
Do are doin really well try removing your shield or increase your endurance. Or you can remove some armour. try keeping your equip load at 70% then you will be at medium load. Medium rolling is more important than having your shield imo. All the best.
Also dont give up it will be hard but I promise it gets easier. If you feel something is hard just run away and comeback when you are stronger and have upgraded you stuffs.
The sound you made @19:34 had me crying
It's so nice that basically the best shield in the game can just drop in the first camp you encounter

A better idea is to unload the crossbow.
