Really love how the gameplay of Monster Hunter is quickly becoming more and more aggressive.
I think there's good things and bad things about aggression and being careful, I sincerely hope they like go back and forth between stuff like gens 3 and 4 and also other games more like Rise and Frontiers

@@Jayrehm for sure but in general Rise is just a faster game at all skill levels and I truly enjoy that but I wish for it to be one of two gameplay moods continuing forward instead of the only one

I was a swax main in world, im glad to see that the weapon has more to it than ZSD spam. Timing and predicting isnt my strong suit, but I am open to learn. Great video.
I finally learned/understand the counter on the SA since yesterday and it has been the best thing ever
Can you explain how this works? I want to learn.
@@TengwarTeacher basically once you learn their moves you have to time to where you activate it right before their hit, you can hold it as long as you have gauge energy and if they hit during that time you'll automatically perform the counter

For some reason had no idea you can do Zero Sum into Soaring Wyvern Blade, thanks for that tech. I had been doing wirebug reloads and using compressed finishers cause it reminded me of striker SA in generations

Every time you counter a monster I hear guilty gear COUNTER !!! in my head and it's beautiful.
The addition of one silkbind really did change everything.
Need to learn how to do this. CB got me through the game, but I have always been a Swaxe main

this videos reminds me of the young me who used to play mh3rdp on my psp, i mained all weapons. I also used to play onlline back then (thanks to that coldbird plugin) now i barely know how to use a greatsword, gotta learn from 0 again, i hope i can be like my younger self again.
Awesome video! Trying to get used to this weapon. Coming from primarily using dual blades, the limited mobility is giving me fits lol.
Most people fit in evade extender 2 for comfort, but I like evade extender 1 cause the distance is just right for me. Try it out, once you get comfortable with dodging and rolling out of attacks being untouchable with the switchaxe is one of the best feelings ever

@@Mikarai I have all the armor, but I’m farming for weapons now! Lol It’s really fun! i just find the positioning hard. Common difficulty coming from a dual blade main. Lol. That’s why I like the new adjustments to lance and have liked SnS. The ability to redirect in key moments is crucial for me lol.
I’ve been using SWax since it’s debut, and I’ve never stopped since. My only other weapon of choice is GS and that’s just when I get pissed cus some monster or other keeps interrupting my axe swing combo 😤

I just finished my ValSwaxe build today (rn I have my LunaSwaxe and my Narwaxe build complete already) so I have to get my RathaSwaxe build and my Ludroth Swaxe build, then I have all 5 elements covered and only 2 has a power phial since I am using the LunaSwaxe as mentioned above and then High Rubillion (I am not using the MagmaSwaxe out of personal preference, same with the AlmuSwaxe)

That was beautiful dude, i'm starting to play switch axe for the first time and i'm really enjoying it. May i also ask if against seregios at 1.18 u did the new counter? And sorry if im asking another thing but i don't understand how to mount the monster to do the elemental discharge, sometimes it does without mounting it
You grapple onto the monster only when the sword is amped up
The thing you saw was a compressed finishing discharge, as to mounting you have to be in amped state an use FD close to the part you want to mount(capcom changed ZSD to FD and made a new move called CFD)
CFD is an AoE blast
Fd is a straight forward blast, if you are amped and close to a monster body part Fd will magnetize towards the monster and latch on
God I wish that compressed discharge was better because it looks amazing

Sunbreak SA is indeed gorgeous. Sidenote tho isnt the astalos axe power phial? I couldve sworn it was because I was so excited to make it thinking it was still elem phial like in GU and that the green phial lightning would fit perfectly with astalos' aesthetic. I remember being very disappointed that it was power phial and had yellow phial lightning effects instead.
Yeah it's actually Narwa's swax, I used a mod called "Layer any weapon" to layer it because I like its design to much ahah

You're using Wirebug Whisperer if i'm not mistaking, cause some of those counters went into another counter and there's no way you can do that even with 3 wire bugs and how fast it recharges without it. I might do that for a swatch build.

I was a SA main but then quickly converted into CB, once I buy Sunbreak I might back to SA
sunbreak is a good time for both CB and SA
I split elements so I had an excuse to play both constantly while progressing :3

Okay, just asking, my first game was mh:tri and I still don't feel I am nearly as methodical as you are, how did you get to be so good at the game? I feel like I button mash till I hit something and would to get to this level of playing, any tips? Does it matter what weapon? (That's a whole nother discussion cause I can't figure out what I like haha)
I think I've started stepping up my game the moment I stopped playing multi and did solo only
Try to always analyze the monster pattern and always aim for the high motion values part (very often: the head), try different combos and see which are the most efficient
@@Mikarai did you find one weapon easier than the other? Or do you play not for speed, but for satisfaction of learning a monsters attack pattern and doing like your other videos have said and it being "a dance"? Anyways thank you for the reply! I really appreciate it and just would love to get better at the game that's all!
Yeah in my opinion, the hunts should be a dance :) I would even say that I'm quite slow in fact
I don't know if some weapons are "easier" but there are definitely some where I'm more comfortable with !

I find your videos really inspiring, I love that this game(MH:Rise and Sunbreak) allow for more of a countering style and I am excited to learn that dance, may I ask what weapons you are more comfortable with? I enjoy a fast paced style, probably why I cart so much haha, so I play Dual blades, but I want to try Sword and Shield for a more countering/dancing playstyle

It's the compressed finishing discharge :)
It truly is. This is what I wanted to main back in World but it didn't measure up in terms of movement so I switched to the Glaive .
And thanks to all these switch skills I use it non stop. The only other weapon I use is Dual Blades and those are mostly for the faster monsters like lunagaron and ZINOGRE

Always hated this weapon since mh3 (no mobility, no way to block ..) but in sunbreak this is now my main weapon
Evade extender, switching back and forth move, silkbind, and regular dodge works wonders.
