I think I will go over this frame by frame, but was wondering about two things: 1. did you punched in in post for the message notification scene or was that a separate tighter shot at 0:19 2. did you record the "human sounds" (like breathing) for the sound design separately, was that raw sound or "foreign" sfx and foley
Felt like I just watched a full tv show episode in just 3 minutes! You really have a way of transitioning between scenes and creating many different moods and feels all in the same video, and while not making the pacing feel rushed. Your story-telling ability is really inspiring man!
Man, I still struggle to get over that shot at 2:28. The composition, the exposure, the direction of the subject in that composure, the balanced exposure from the sunset and the lights. Man you fucking nailed it so hard

This video literally changed my life. From client work which consisted of slow motion and good music, this film changed my ambitions when I first watched it in 2021. Now, two years later I still find myself watching it regularly, but I have changed my game completely myself. Not at your level yet, Danny, but you totally changed my filmmaking. Forever grateful. just light and expose your shot properly, use some kodak 2383, basic correction prior to the lut and clean the black levels with log wheels after the lut. Some grain of your choice prior to everything and you're set. Like... 80% of the commercials are like that. The rest is power windows, relighting and cleanups.

A perfect example of a true modern-day filmmaker. I have a ways to go watching something like this, but it's so refreshing in comparison to a world of over transitions with 0 purposeful shooting.
The word 'cinematic' gets thrown about a lot on RUclips but this is certainly that. I'm overjoyed to see that it isn't almost entirely slo-mo! Beautiful work fam!
I don't have to say what everyone else says about it being great, but I wanted to say that I love how you take a story that is seemingly so simple (kid has a bad swing and works until he hits his first homer) and turn it into something so compelling. A lot of what stops me from making stuff is not having a "good" story, but this just proves you don't need a crazy idea to make something beautiful.
Your transitions through subject placement and use of shapes was PHENOMENAL. Definitely going to keep this film in mind while I’m out on shoots. Bravo!

- Tiffen Black Pro Mist 1/8 (for sure) - PolarPro Basecamp Mattebox(?) That's what I imagine he's using based on his previous videos ;) You can see that there's subtle diffusion in every shot so for sure he's using a mist filter of some variety.
That was cool! Curious how you did the car shot. I feel like those are always super hard to do right. Also, the cinematography was great but what stuck out to me was the editing. Top notch.

From the dialogue to the ambient noises, sound effects, to the sound track - ALL OF IT is full of life... This combined with your keen ability to arrange your images... IT’S PERFECTION! Bravo!
