Hey René I've been listening to your podcast non stop for the past few months and I just want you to know how much I love every single episode. Growing up I always enjoyed the "midcard" wrestlers and storylines more than the actual main event stars (with a few exceptions, like Triple H, Cactus Jack, HBK or Angle), so it's great that they all have a platform like this to tell stories and talk about wrestling. Thank you, René and James, for bringing all of these people into your podcast! Would love to see Simon Dean/ Nova and Goldust here one day! Oh, and if you ever bring someone from Noah, I'd love to see Timothy Thatcher in here, he's one of my all time favourites and since he's not much into social networks, it would be cool to hear him talk with you guys 🙃 Cheers from Portugal, keep up the amazing work!
I'm surprised all the comments are surprised by this. 1 this is older hbk he was more for pushing younger guys than (not like in the 90s obv). 2 London went to Shawn's wrestling academy, which only surprises me with the comments is how no one else mentions tht. Same with Brian kendrick, Lance cade, and even Bryan Danielson. Idk if Paul london will ever see this but I always was a huge fan of his work. And tht exact angle he talked about with hbk, cade, and y2j was what I was both thinking and wanting to happen at the time.
HBK was probably ribbing London with the praise because he knew he was getting fired. I hope it was genuine but if hbk liked London so much I’m sure he had the pull to have London stay and Shawn work with him.
He was an excellent draw. HBK, Undertaker, and Bret kept the WWF going in the mid 90's when business was down during that period and deserve more credit than anybody for keeping the WWF alive. May 10th, 1999 on WWF Raw, HBK returned as WWF Commissioner and was on tv in most of the segments of that show that night and that was the highest rated episode of Monday Night Raw of all time with a phenomenal 8.1 rating. HBK was also the most popular/over guy on Raw when he returned in 2002 all throughout the Ruthless Aggression Era while The Undertaker was the most popular/over guy on Smackdown all throughout the Ruthless Aggression Era. HBK being "Mr. Wrestlemania" and The Undertaker's "Streak" were always the big selling points every year for Wrestlemania which was of course the biggest show of the year. HBK's DX merch sales are always in the Top 5.
A match with Shawn and London would've ben so badass man..

"Good job, kid" is something Shawn would say to someone seven years younger than him.
Paul London's marvelous graying hair has me questioning his age, and my own.
Yup , Shawn is the best can't argue with that .
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What an amazing episode , Rene plus 2 wrestlers I loved soooooo much back in the day ❤️👑💯

Danielson has a really good interview with Stone Cold where he talks about training with HBK. Recommended.
I made London a World Champion in SVR 06. Shawn was my cruiserweight champ.

HBK trained his tag partner Brian Kendrick so it makes sense he was friendly with London as well.
@@fmthebaron so was paul, they both went to Shawn's wrestling school
Someone actually praising HBK? It's like finding a unicorn knowing how he hated he is
These are great stories from great wrestlers. I was a huge fan of all these guys. Love the podcast
Great job everyone
Which sane pro wrestling fan would not praise HBK?
As a wrestler yes as a person fuck no. Even hbk himself said so.
He's a shit person but a top 5 wrestler.
The hangman page fans that think he’s hbk 2.0
@@UFCWWE69 I like hangman but he is nowhere near hbk levels
Bret Hart marks
Hbk backdropped Haas over the top in 05. Wasn’t a superkick
You guys smell like bong water🤣🤣
Like the video to help the channel grow even further!
Shawn was the best in the ring however not a very good draw

@@fmthebaron that's laughable. They were the reason it was down.
@@jeffreyross71 they were the only watchable parts though
He's definitely not the best 😂🤣 bit of a reach tbh
He's easily the best worker ever. No stretch there. 🍀
As Good as Paul London is, and was, Shawn would probably Never put him Over in the 90s.
