As someone who did martial arts for quite a bit of their child. I can attest we normally dont go looking for fights. In fact, it is extremely frowned upon and is extremely disrespectful to your school and sensi.
Karate is more of an aerobic course than self defense. It peaked in the 80's and made for some good movies but is not effective in a street fight. We all have seen numerous averages joes destroy these "karate sensi masters"..😂

I've personally known people who have a similar personality to Jack Doherty. They just have such a fake personality and never take anything seriously, and when you get mad at them they act like it's your fault and you're the villain, never taking accountability for their own actions. Years ago there was a kid in my class who kept calling me a pussy, so I walked up to him in class, standing right next to his desk, looked at him directly in the eye, and said, "say it again, I dare you". You can always tell who is simply by the way they walk around places. People like Jack have this arrogant “style” to them and they clearly think they’re the toughest people there. People who actually know what they’re doing, professional fighters, martial artists, boxers, soldiers, you name it, they’re much different. They always have a confidence about them, but the best are very quiet about it, and make no attempt to actually start a fight. Sure, they’ll put you down if they have to, but fighting will likely be the last resort. If you go to a good dojo or teacher for combat, the first thing you should be taught is this. If there’s any way for you to do this, then just walk away, there’s no point wasting energy, time, and putting yourself in danger if there’s no need to. I’m saying this as someone who’s trained for almost a quarter of my life and I can safely say, people like Jack give us a bad name because people now think everyone who’s trained is going to be like this. Hell I ran into Jack at a mall once, but I didn’t know who he was, so I just ignored him.

1. When his security can’t protect him and he gets a punch to the face then walks off and starts crying like a baby
2. When he disobeys a mall security guard and starts walking off and then he has to get taken out by the security guy and he is shoving his microphone on his face and he gets told stop recording and to remove the microphone but he doesn’t so the mall guard says I will throw it and he dose, then his Jacks security comes in the way and then there is a hunch of cops asking for his ID so he can leave but he is refusing it is a long story

I’m glad you mentioned the difference between people like Jack and people who are actually experienced in combat and martial arts. You can always tell who is simply by the way they walk around places. People like Jack have this arrogant “style” to them and they clearly think they’re the toughest people there. People who actually know what they’re doing, professional fighters, martial artists, boxers, soldiers, you name it, they’re much different. They always have a confidence about them, but the best are very quiet about it, and make no attempt to actually start a fight. Sure, they’ll put you down if they have to, but fighting will likely be the last resort. If you go to a good dojo or teacher for combat, the first thing you should be taught is this. If there’s any way for you to do this, then just walk away, there’s no point wasting energy, time, and putting yourself in danger if there’s no need to. I’m saying this as someone who’s trained for almost a quarter of my life and I can safely say, people like Jack give us a bad name because people now think everyone who’s trained is going to be like this. Hell I ran into Jack at a mall once, but I didn’t know who he was, so I just ignored him.
