Nice video! I don't understand why you don't have more likes and subscribers.

Keeps asking me for the product key. Does this mean the Redstone version doesn't work anymore?

It means you allowed it to search for updates. You need to follow the instructions in the video and not search for updates or alternatively clean install Windows 10 RS1 with your Windows 7 OEM key.

I'm pretty sure I didn't let it search for updates. I tried it multiple times. Anyway, I got it working, the problem now is that after installing, I was updating drivers and restarted, Windows updated as well and is now telling me that I need to activate Windows 10

What version of Windows did you upgrade from? Was it activated and licensed correctly?

From Windows 7. Yeah it was legit. I don't have the key anymore though. It came preloaded on my mobo like 5 years ago and I don't have the box with the key on it. It happened when I was moving my SSD with the OS on it to a new computer. It didn't work on the new computer so I put it back in my old one and upgraded to Win10 in hopes that would do the trick. Well it worked but after I put it back in the new computer and updated, it prompted me to "activate". I tried to "upgrade" again but it of course says Win10 is already installed. I would reformat back to Win7 if I could and then upgrade back to Win10 to try it again but that isn't possible without a cd key or pirating a copy of Win7.
Seems like an odd bug in an unusual circumstance so I'm not too hurt about it. I haven't been given a time limit to "activate" that I've noticed. Maybe I'll just buy a copy of Win10 Pro since they're only like $25 online... All I need is a CD key at this point. :/

Sounds like you should have a Windows 7 OEM license. In which case the key should be on a sticker affixed to the computer.
It also sounds like you tried to transfer the SSD (and hence OEM license). In such a case Windows should have noted the hardware change and product activation should have been removed....
Is this a Dell, HP, Lenovo etc. PC?

During the video you where running windows 10 yet at the end you said you never had windows 10 on that computer whats up with that it was running windows 10

This computer deliberately never had Windows 10 Pro installed on it... before the 29/07/2016. This was the date Microsoft stated the Windows 10 Edition Free Upgrade Ended.
As a consequence I deliberately never installed or upgraded to Windows 10 Pro on this PC, that way its system hardware profile wasn't stored or registered with a Microsoft Product Activation server before the 29/07/2016.
For me the entire point in this system was to test what happened after the 29/07/2016. I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro after the 29/07/2016 to see if Windows 10 Pro would activate and it did.

Philip Yip Thanks so you had just put windows 10 on it for the video or was that the insider edition you where running .

This was the mainstream release of Redstone 1 (RS1) using the mainstream Windows 10 Redstone 1 Media Creation Tool/.iso.
I've not tested with the Insider Preview .iso, presumably it has the "Updates" inbuilt which ask for the key.
