There was a mentally ill guy in my town that wore two hats. We called him Billy Two Hats. He would ride a bicycle and shine a flashlight at people driving by.
God bless you. It reminds me of years gone by here in Wisconsin. I had the good fortune of helping my good friend plant 5,000 trees on his 120-acre farm. Ten years have passed, and you can't believe what a paradise this little farm is now! Very rewarding!
If you weave the bamboo rod through one or two of the hoops in the sleeve it won't be able to blow/fly off in a sudden gust of wind or a storm for example
Loving the ProHo videos as always. Seeing that shovel sink right into that soft Pacific Northwest ground makes this desert dwelling rock-wrangler jealous. Can’t even get moist dirt with a day of pre-softening the dirt with irrigation haha.
Sometimes a individual must be a man of many hats. Appliance repair man, carpenter, mechanic, forester, chief cook and bottle washer, the best though is when we get to be a Mr. Rodgers to the young children or grandchildren 😅😊😊😊
Never thought I’d be spending my time watching someone plant 220 trees…you’ve given me 20 minutes of peace and relaxation, thank you! What a great legacy to leave future generations, the forest will look great once it starts to mature!
I'd really enjoy seeing a video of the planning. I know at this point it would be in retrospect, but, I think it would be fascinating personally. The why, the tree placement, etc. Being down by the river, I'm also curious how the river bend project is going with the state.
I see those same style mesh nets used by the companies replanting the clearcuts in the forests north of Rainier off 410. They seem to work well for both the deer and elk up there. If you're interested in Douglas Fir, next time I'm down that way, I should bring you some... I am constantly plucking the saplings from my property due to the virulant ones in the area.
Been going through and rewatching your wild land firefighting videos and am learning a lot. Could you do a video or two on your complete kit, for what a guy would need to be able to protect his house?? Thanks for the great content!!
He built a red fire box over a few videos and also went over the kit and portable water pump and reservoir. Look back about 3 years or so. You'll find it
May I recommend planting willow by the river. Aside from being able to be grown from cuttings, its grows extremely quickly, it’s infinitely useful for a myriad of different things, and it will keep your bank from eroding extremely quickly while your other trees get established.
As a western New York resident, I could never sink a shovel that easily into my property. We have so many rocks it would take 20 mins of digging per tree. Loving the project videos.
I’m loving this content, super cool to see how to and where to plant trees! How much was the 250 trees and was it like a package deal? Keep up the incredible work!!👍
Honest question from a novice: won’t the branches grown into holes of the tree protectors making the growth very inefficient and the protector nearly impossible to remove once the tree is mature enough. Or are they biodegradable and malleable enough to not hinder growth?
That fresh dirt spot mixed with the spring rain would make an excellent spot for a food plot for the elk and deer. A couple salt licks every year, to ensure they always see your place as a safe haven, food security for you food security for them, they will love the mini forest to great work.
I remember from a video long ago that when maintaining a forest, you said no tree should be within the canopy of another tree. Are you planting these saplings so close together because you suspect that not all of the trees will survive so you have a little higher density?
Geat location for the homestead. Never run out of water and have electrisety if there in no more mains. Love your place nice . I was woried you had no shoes but you were warind the spetial once.
I'll tell ya one thing that gave me the fizz- digging into the earth that deep and pulling up nice rich soil. East Coast ground is rock solid with with soil you can't grow anything in.
Next year you need to plant a few yards farther away from all of the steep banks it might not be obvious now but anyplace the bank is straight up and down you are having erosion trouble not much winning against water unless you are willing to build wing dams and structure to combat it
I don't trust 2 hat people! ....I only trust men that wear 3 watches 😤😤😤😤 ....Praise Yah, I got a video treat right before bed! May the Father continue to bless you and your house.
LOL!!! My beloved man servant!? Does that mean you also have beloved, “women servants” as well? Oh, I forgot, they are actually called, “Maid Servants.” I wish you had planted the, Coconut tress to. That way you could force feed your beloved, maiden servants copra for the, “toupee projects” that way you wouldn’t have to rely on the hats, covering the bald spots on the top of your head. Aloha and Mahalo for your tree planting projects. Have precious memories of my, Grandfather excited when we would spend time together when the, Coconut trees took root, and then years later, I was the one climbing them and cutting the Coconuts down, and trimming the trees back. Then the women elders in the family would get together, after I also peeled hundreds of coconuts to make traditional Hawaiian food stuffs, from the coconuts that we harvested and my Grandfather planted. Some of the Trees were over 50 years old and tall like your North Western Pine trees, well maybe not that high, but some in the older groves were 80 to 100 feet up. The 80’ footers took tremendous strength to climb when in my teens and twenties, could climb bare footed with no climbing gear, in the traditional way. The shorter trees 40’ you could actually hang on easier and actually sometimes bore the most fruit. And the nuts would survive the drops. But the higher trees when the cluster hit the ground, you had better make sure the kids are not around. Because the force of the splash from them, would burst individual nuts into a spray like pattern that could seriously injure someone on the ground. “Those were the days,” as Edith and Archie Bunker used to sing. Remember? Once again, Aloha and Mahalo for sharing. 🌺🌸🌴❤️🇺🇸
i think i would be fishing there everyday if i lived there. hopefully you got a lot of the little trees free the pines on my property drop so much that there is tons of little ones everywhere. but i just leave em be.
Because three would look ridiculous
Lol
Top comment material, good luck

Its takes two hats to keep the toupee in place.

I saw that poor little plastic yellow duck that was trapped by the backwash next to the river bank. You'll need to set him free.
🤣🤣. I thought that was what that was..... 🥰🥰✌️🇨🇦
He’s in a short leash,
I think there's a thermometer attached to it

Is it only me who saw the rubber duck that made my day
I see a secondary use for your quad-mounted fire skid in watering trees this summer.
Thank you for planting trees that fit your area! I love trees! Grew up in hard woods and pine
Looking great Cody! It's going to make a wonderful grove when established. Just need to get some huckleberries to grow there.

This way, the elk can more easily see the trees that they need to trample on.
Two hats and a hair piece is THREE hats

I live in southern Oregon, I feel your pain. I’ve woke up too my pool being 150 plus gallons low.
What was the thought process behind planting everything so close together?
Someone: Why are you tired?
Me: I’ve been staying up late watching Cody two hats plant trees,
LOL!!! 😃👍🏻😂🤣😅😎
You will have to protect your elk from poachers if it comes to that
Nice boots I got a pair of Dock Martins waterproof and comfy !
I’m loving this content, super cool to see how to and where to plant trees! How much was the 250 trees and was it like a package deal?

Where did you get the forest in a bag of all the variety of pnw trees you planted?
Honest question from a novice: won’t the branches grown into holes of the tree protectors making the growth very inefficient and the protector nearly impossible to remove once the tree is mature enough. Or are they biodegradable and malleable enough to not hinder growth?
What keeps the mesh tube in contact with the ground?🎉
gravity
I wear two hats during the summer... One on forward and one backwards
Your property looks amazing. Love the creek.
Could you needle that Bamboo rod thru a few holes of the netting to keep it from going missing?
Where did you buy the trees?
I really love seeing you so happy. this reminds me of the days when we all started posting videos. Thanks so much for sharing brother. God Bless

How long do those stay around the tree before removing, or do they fall away and degrade as it grows?
If they’re the same ones I’ve used in the past they will eventually sun rot and break down. Much nicer than the common corrugated plastic protectors.
I remember from a video long ago that when maintaining a forest, you said no tree should be within the canopy of another tree. Are you planting these saplings so close together because you suspect that not all of the trees will survive so you have a little higher density?
Pine and cedar don't have that big of a canopy
Are the trees to help prevent erosion? I mean partially anyway?
Where do you get those mesh sleeves
Was that a little rubber Ducky floating in the river?
Maybe to hold a thermometer?
Still doing the river plunges?
What were the counts and types of trees?
Interesting area. What kind of fish populate the river/creek?
Just curious, how are the trees you planted at the previous property?
Love seeing you plant trees again. Just like old times!
Because the kid who was in all the plays in H.S. and never made it to Broadway-still loves to play Dress Up!! From the top-and 1 and 2
whats with the duck bath toy at 4:22 ? :)
Well done! Loved seeing your yellow "duckie" floating in the stream!
what water temperature does the rubber duck indicate these days?
I’d love to see a update video on your former homestead. How’s that going?
It's great to hear the back story around the two hats. Things were much cooler back in the day.
Proho has hats, proho has man wigs and proho has an m4. Don't fcuk with proho 😂❤👍
Great point!! A man with an M4 can wear a tu-tu IF HE WANTS......🤣🤣✌️🇨🇦
Where did you order your trees? I'd love to di something like this on my property
Does the River ever over flow the banks?
Love the Rubber Duck. In the river. Is it Sweetloaf’s?
Geat location for the homestead. Never run out of water and have electrisety if there in no more mains.
Love your place nice .
I was woried you had no shoes but you were warind the spetial once.
The Mad Hatter and Mercury Poisoning comes to mind ... 🤣
Very satisfying work, planting trees.
This, along with the purple neckerchief make the answer pretty obvious
Man how I’d love to have land right off the river like that one day. Looks beautiful.

You should already be eating elk meat! 💪 Real ProHo food 😂
Anybody else see the rubber ducky floating in the creek

Your plantation is one eye on the future, God bless.
What ever happened to the other part of your property you were working on
Them ain't deer. Thems west coast cows.
Wearing one ladies hat is eccentric. Wearing two is just insane.
There was a rubber duck in the creek- did anyone else catch it?
Pretty sure I saw a rubber ducky floating in the river. One of the warbands?
I put those plastic things around my pineapples 🍍 to keep the critters away from them. Don’t think 🤔 they will stop a raccoon 🦝 they are too smart!

Why not weave the bamboo in a bit to keep the wind from blowing them off?
Cheaper than toupee insurance
those trees are planted to close together bud.
Are you still keeping up with the cold plunges?
Gotta keep that hair piece well protected.
wonderful to plant a forest, a living legacy for the future. Well done.
I don't know why more people don't plant fruit and nut trees, especially if they are the ones complaining of high food prices.
Using the wood dowels: you’re using the bones of his cousin to help make the village safe.
Man that’s rich black dirt and not the hard Georgia red clay I have to dig through to plant something
The only way to get dirt like that in Ga. is by the bag at Home Depot
At 4:14 or so, is that a rubber duck?
aren’t those trees really close together?

What are you listening to on your earbuds? 🙂
I like you Rubber river duck! I'm guessing they haven't migrated yet?
😅shouldn't you have weaved the sticks in the mesh protective sleeves for the trees 🌳
I thought your new toupee might be a bit unruly.
Also what happened with the plot of land next to the fire station?
Mowing the grass in there........ less easy for sure. lol
Amazing 😊
