that fall was the most breathtaking moment of my favorite scene in my favorite prehistoric life documentary.
I'm not sure how to describe it but a feathered velociraptor just seems so... elegant, regal - grandiose? All in a very deadly way
Realest thing I’ve heard
The design of Velociraptor in php is strongly reminiscent of a roadrunner, which is a pretty elegant yet ferocious dinosaur in its own right.
It's so interesting to see the change in dinosaur perception that happened in my lifetime.
Same, it is just unreal how much it has changed in the last twenty years. The perception of dinosaurs have changed many times before, but not so fast then in the last two decades.
Best depiction of veloceraptor ever
Truly amazing
Feathers make dinosaurs just more interesting. I wish more people (particularly YEC) could accept the true nature of the greatest creation ever: animals.
Greatest creation ever was man... Made in God's image
@@robbiecleighmarks3088 I disagree. All of God's Creation is beautiful. Nowhere in the Bible does God say that man is the "best" Creation.
@@robbiecleighmarks3088 God doesn't exist.
@@gecko-saurus nah human kind is the best nature creation. Like i dont know how we manage to be the only species that had evolve the brain so much to the point where human can easily destroy the entire ecosystem for their gain. Thankfully we still got consciousness to not do it
IKR?
SCREW JURASSIC PARK/WORLD; WHY DO THEY HAVE TO CLING ONTO THAT FALSE NARRATIVE OF WHAT THEY MAKE DINOSAURS OUT TO BE. . . THEY WERE FEATHERED, NOT ALL SCALES!!
It makes sense. They were ambush predators so feathers would’ve been good for camouflage.
I wish these things were still alive
Dinosaurs still exist though, if you go to a park and see a goose, that’s a dinosaur.
@evanmaldonado9799 but they don't look as cool as a velociraptor
@@njez7563 What about Eagles?
Chickenosaurus coming
@@evanmaldonado9799 I guess they're pretty cool
Feathers in advanced flightless dinosaurs might have serve for the thermal regulation. Mammals have fur, advanced dinosaurs (either flying/avian or flightless) had feathers.
Or for courtship. Many birds use their feathers to attract mates. It’s entirely within the realm of possibility that Velociraptor, and other theropods, used their feathers to perform courtship rituals to attract a potential mate.
Never seen a bird trying to catch its breath. The ability of birds to breathe air with less oxygen is not something that evolved by itself it's a miracle of design! If an animal that is up were theres thinner air that animal will die, no reptile has the ability to do this its something birds are created with.
2:22 I feel like comparing velociraptor to chicken or turkeys is kind of demeaning. A better way to put it is that they were like giant ground eagles.
velociraptors hunted in packs and were not flyers
eagles are flyers and hunt alone.
chickens are not flyers and are hunting in packs.
i guess thats why people compare them to chickens
Its because the jurassic park dinos arent really dinos but abominations with mixed dna
They are abominable movie monsters
to be fair, the "velociraptor antirrhopus" (deinonychus) was actually skeletally accurate for 1991, aside from the pronated limbs.
2015 though? yeah JW had no excuse and they made it even LESS accurate by smushing the snout further and giving them more teeth.
@@christosdoesthings There is a scene in JW where Dr Wu explains to the park owner that the 'dinosaurs' in the exhibits are not natural and look nothing like the real thing, the park just wanted scary looking monsters for the publicity. Dunno why you're complaining about something that was explained to you verbal.
@@christosdoesthingsJurassic World is an abomination to the franchise. I only consider JP1 and JP2 to be the 'real' Jurassic Movies.
That may be true for later installments. Initially, the films featured conventional dinosaurs like TRexes, raptors, brontosaurs.
YOO WE CAN COMMENT NOW
Were they turned off?
@@KOcrybaby Yes
@@Proceratosaurus-qk4li why?
@@KOcrybaby Idk.

sorry allergenic time travelers
Bro in back Bro magpie IS velociraptor -3:24
😂 Agility build fr. Opted out of flight but took feathers for increase agility.
Pretty sure T-Rex, and many other dinosaurs, had feathers as well, as they were the ancestors of today's raptor birds and were most-likely omnivores. They likely made bird-like noises as well. Giving them elephant skin is weird.
Tyrannosaurus is a little big for feathers don’t u think?
Tyrannosaurus rex had no feathers, according to paleontologists.
@@thexdude actually, paleontologists believe tyrannosaurus would have had smaller, hair-like feathers across its back.
@@christosdoesthings Yeah, that would make sense, sure, but they did not have full feathers and would have probably not sounded a lot like birds.
@@thexdude definitely.

I wanna called feathered velociraptor!
It's always not normal velociraptor
Throughout this series the producers and experts, like Dr Naish, found the least likely environments, like a cliff face here, or an ocean for T-rex, to put their animals into. Ask yourself why would Velociraptor risk going after bony pterosaurs in dangerous environs when plump baby ornithischians were waiting for them out on the plains, the scrubs and the sands where their fossils were actually found?
