To be fair UConn did prove they were undisputably the best in NCAA Basketball. No one team could stop them. It's almost as if the back-to-back March Madness wins were inevitable.

One reason I picked Illinois, was Iowa St had already met UConn in a past East Region bracket (Sweet 16 - 2014) and it is highly unlikely you would see teams who meet in one region of the tournament, meet in the same region despite different circumstances.
This is so late but I’m gonna comment anyway😂. Iowa state held Illinois to 15 or so points less than their average which was the best case scenario for them. Illinois’ defense really caused Iowa state to struggle in the first half which I would say won them the game. Both great teams but Iowa state needed the offense to step up and Illinois needed the defense to do the same. Illinois’ defense outplayed Iowa state on offense
