Most of the time these studio "cutting room floor" edits take away from the musical numbers, but would say that the edits here were actually an improvement - normally not the case. Hate to give the editors credit for paring back the music, but give them credit here - though you wonder, was any dancing lost during those music sequence edits?
A much underrated musical. Powell really upped her game here by stepping in at the last minute to work with Astaire.
