Just stumble on your video. I really like your table set up with the caster wheels. Question would you mind divulging what kind of round headed nails you're using on the straps and where can we possibly find them! Thanks so much for your awesome videos.
Amazing!!! I’ve been looking to get one and make or buy for my dad who has this huge bourbon collection to store. This would be an amazing addition. 👊🏼👊🏼
Love the design. Where can I get some of the nails you use to secure the bands please through the bands not the clips. Trying some barrels in Somerset UK. Great inspiration
Yes I do, I designed them in Solidworks, But different barrels have different hoop dimensions. I would need to know the dimensions for your hoops, and may have to design some custom new ones for you. My barrels have 2 different widths of hoops.
Hi how are you? Your work is very good, I am from Argentina, this is one of the best videos that I saw about bar barrels, I would like to know the quantities in liters of the components that you use for that liquid that you put, how did you prepare it? How much quantity and what components did you use? Thank you.
The Barrel is very well done and looks great. I like the idea of bending the hinges to the curvature of the barrel. I have not been able to find the type that you have used. Can you let me know where you purchased them? Thanks,
Amazing work! I have a question. Where can I get those rivets that you are hammering into the rings of the barrel? I love the aesthetics they provide as well as the stabilization to the wood. Thanks in advance, looking forward to more videos.
I'm doing a LBC now & am hung up on the hinge/door mount; and did a search & found your 3pt series (like how you did yours!) And was hoping to see what I may be doing wrong. Using t-hinges and mounted the same, except in the center, the door cannot clear the frame to open. I have 1/16" kerfs all around. I am hoping I don't have to break out the plane to trim the doors; would like to find out if the doors/frame does need to be trimmed or if there is some trick you used. TYIA. Dane
Hello Dane! sorry for the late response, I'm not quite sure I understand your issue, Can you send pictures to my email (it's listed in the about section on my Channel) I'll be able to help more easily I hope!
Curious if you’ve ever tried to do the top horizontal cut ABOVE the second steel band. I’ve seen others do a cut way at the top but that seems too much. You think it’d be stable enough.
Yeah that does look pretty pristine compared to others I’ve seen. It’s good to see you priced appropriately…. I’ve seen some where people cut on the top of the second band since the top two bands are so close together I’ve found cutting below the second band can sometimes make the barrel doors bow out a bit. Thinking maybe cutting above the second band would solve that
@@hoody2141 I found cutting above the strap keeps the doors in the shape it was shaped into . If you cut below the staves tend to unbend and not match the original shape.
I went with the #10s...ended up drilling with #20 drill, .02p" smaller than the shank diameter. Tried it on a piece of scrap wood and seemed to hold pretty good. Thanks for the awesome video and recommendations!!
@@mattvolm awesome!! glad I could help, and with that sizing, just make sure you drill a hole a little deeper than the length of the nail, so there is room for the undersized material to bunch up in. or you'll end up breaking through the other side. Cheers!
@@BoujeeBarrels Thanks for the awesome build video! This link takes us to screw nails that say they are for "metal, plastic, and plywood." It looks like these screw nails have a much higher thread count than the ones you used. Do you think McM has changed the product since you bought them, or are they the same ones? If it's changed, do you think the new model will work?
I make cardboard templates of the door opening, and then I use a jig to press the curve back into the door to match my template, while I glue in the curved wood inlay.
Ok so I like this method way better than the standard uneven shiny self tappers. ….. but what in the F is a screw nail! 😂😂 I can’t find them or anyone who know what I’m talking about
Wow!!!! I was thinking about a juice smoothie bar. What a great idea!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
Thank you!! 🥰
The rotary stand is genius , I will definitely be making one, I will give you a shout .
Also , amazing work
Thank you very much!! Also, part number for the bearing I used is: 1544T3 (McMaster Carr) good for 1000lbs lol.
Excellent work!
You're so talented. Great job.
Thank you So Much!!!
Absolutely love it good work mate, new sub from Australia 🇦🇺
thank you!! much appreciated 🍻

Hey man awesome job, w Where You Get Does hinges?
Could you tell me where to got the racks or nails for the straps. Love this idea and currently working on my own barrel.

I was thinking the same thing. I thought he was pounding in rivets after drilling a small hole. I wonder if they make a ring spanked rivet like nails
They might be Knurled rivits
Amazing job 👏

Where did you get the strap hinges, Home Depot doesn’t have them

I have a question. is this the hammer screw you use to attach the metal hoops to the wood?
Can you give a link for the button head screw nails you use? I can’t find them anywhere
I build the exact same barrel with only 20 hours of actually hands on. My shelves rotate too.
Would love to do the same but cannot locate those button top screw nails. I’m in Canada too. Did you have to make
Hello michael, I use #8 screw nails from McMaster-Carr. www.mcmaster.com/90081A196/
what fasteners are you using for t he hoops?
This is amazing work. Do you happen to have the 3D printer plans for the jig you made to drill the holes in the bands?

Are those twist nails you're using? I can't find round head twist nails to save my life, where do you get yours?

hello! Thank you for your compliments. Are you asking about the Epoxy Resin that lights up on top?
My question is why do you put the wooden strip on the door of the barril what's its purpose?
The glued in inlays stop the doors and door openings from changing shape, similar to screwing a backing plate to the doors, but much cleaner.
Thanks for that's info never thought the door openings would change shape

and the hinge part number is: 1001026532 at home depot.
I appreciate the information but it seems like that Home depot does have these hinges anymore. I will continue to look. Thank you very much.
hi, can you post a link AMAZON where i can find the ROUND HEAD NAILS? Thanks

@@BoujeeBarrels which length/alloy did you go with?
So the only question is how did you get that barrel to spin in the beginning
So you only put screw nails in the door, not around the whole barrel? Not necessary?

So those are actually called Drive Screws (Screws you hammer). Hope that helps!

What size drill bit did you use for the screw nails? McMaster just says use slightly smaller than the shank, lol!
What size screw nails are you using? the #8's?

Why don't you cut the doors down to the rings?
Does anyone know what size barrel was used?
How did you keep the doors from flattening? I built one and made one big door and it didn't keep it's curvature to match the barrel.
I make cardboard templates of the door opening, and then I use a jig to press the curve back into the door to match my template, while I glue in the curved wood inlay.
