      Italy has other problems. Ref national debt Mr Piketty proposed already a great solution. US is really in immense troubles as they have already burned their future.

    Europe's problem is that it's completely preoccupied with things like climate change and fear of new technology. All those annoying cookie messages we get on the internet now. that's the kind of thing the European union likes to focus on.

    It is giving money to Compagnies from one hand and taking it back with the other hand. 800 billion EU represent a huge mass of taxes postponed in a near future.

      @@OlorinEa This is the problem my friend, Europe needs an industrial policy like it had in the 60s/70s (and when the Soviet Union started selling gas to West Germany). You have no other option but to get along with Russia and finally stop with neo-liberalism and this involves tariffs, capital controls and some strategic state-owned companies like the surprise China is doing.

      @@OlorinEa Interestingly, everyone was arguing in the 90s that NATO expansion would sooner or later provoke a war with Russia. In 2008, when George Bush announced that NATO would expand to Ukraine and Georgia (and we had the first war in Georgia in 2008 because of this). Everyone knew that there would be a war with Russia because of this, and yet it was done.

    when they say 800 billion investment is needed for EU, are they creating new money or are they asking for that money from people to invest? it is important to know if they increase the M2 (EUR in existence) or what?

    Draghi report won't work.....EU has many countries that won't agree.....for instance, which countries get the money? how much does each country get from €800 billion?.......

      The funds will be for investment projects, it's not just 800 billion to share out every year to the nations.
      A large proportion of it will be for start up companies something that's badly needed in Europe.

      it is not an easy task.....

      @@levinanji9649 as I said it will be on merit judged on the business case of each application. Exactly how it should be.
      It's to encourage entrepreneurs and give them access to funding if they have a solid idea.
      I'm sure there will be some limits so that it all doesn't go just just 2 or 3 nations.

    Europe need a European Alibaba aliexpress or ebay to put manufacturers closer to the buyers , europeu needs more innovation and and stop giving away those innovations to third countries like Europe has been doing for the last 30 years .
    Basically Europe build modern Chinese economy .

      You're stupid. EU DID NOT print money, and this is why EU is in crisis. EU went full austerity. USA on the other hand DID PRINT and look what happened, they are now 2x richer than before 2008, while EU is the same. How can people be so dumb...

    I live in Europe and our living standard is very low in comparison with Western Europe, we are in lower situation than many countries in the world.
    Unemployiment is very high, corruption, low standards in economy and industry. We live from remittances.

    NOPE!!! It will not!
    Although some of the findings are correct the measures to fix the problems are not.
    In fact the measures are more or less just more of the same that caused the problems initially.
    More over if anyone believe 800 billion debt PER YEAR is possible for the almost dead EU economy... well it has some serous mental problems ;)

    What you did not mention is Europe has a baggage that the US does not have which is Eastern Europe practically very poor that needs feeding while the US is more or less levelled and their whole country has the same gdp very hard to compete like that. Ex communist countries are more or less a burden on Western European tax payers whiles being un democratic far right un productive. Name one Eastern European international brand known in the whole world does not exit at all so how can we compete when we are stuck with them???
