I'm practising navaja Style Fight since the early 80's and have still the opinion that you better don't fight a person with a knife even if you have also one. If you can better leave but sometimes you can not leave the situation so you have to fight against a knife. I'm thankful and proud we have someone like you, teaching us great methods to protect us from mayor injuries, so thank you. I'm a big follower.

Please do not believe this shit would ever work in the real world. This will only result in your injury or death. The answer it to CREATE space, not take away space. Create space, and if possible get something between you and the attacker...a chair, a car, a door, anything that makes it more difficult for them to get to you.

@250ICON Hello and thank you for your comment. At 1. I dont disagree with you, I do Martial arts since I was 4, today i am 48 and all my life I was training also to keep space from attacker but trust me, there are lots of bad people without respekt to them selfs or other people and sometimes you can not keep distance to the aggressor so you have to close the distance and you have to stop the aggressor as soon as possible so you have to close the distance. Trust me bro' I'm not a martial artist, I came from the streets and have tasted the Knife ( 3 stitches in my stomach.
So if you say it doesn't work I give you right if we are untrained persons but with some training behind it works purely. But sure I am with you when you say: keep distance, I will do so whenever I can and recommend to stay away from bad persons, for sure I recommend that.
      Greetings, and God bless

Do you have a video where you specifically focus on the "take away face or space." ? Are you still an instructor? You all are great. We enjoy your videos.😊

This is good advice. The face should always be a target in a defense situation. There is no good scenario when it comes to knife attacks, and you are very likely to get cut. However, when there is no choice and it's life or death, this advice is pretty good.
