He survived Iraq only to be killed by an "accidental" overdose from the meds the VA was giving him... I suffered a nervous breakdown and went to therapy for several years. I could not because we did not have the domestic partnership papers signed and I was a total "stranger" in he eyes of the law. If I could, I would sue them not for the money but to punish them and then donate the money to another charity. Also all the young men who enlist they do not read the "fine print" that says that they sold their lives to the government and in the event of wrongful death the max amount of compensation to their family is $250K. The doctors I warned several times that the cocktail of these meds lead to death according to a letter the FDA sent me, kept hanging up the phone on me after he died and they were never punished by the VA or the State of CA. Fortunately, we kept dating and ended up together. This is our 33 year since that awkward I love you.
