Hi Allan! Glow in the Dark!!!! Awesome!!!!! Never thought of that!!!!! Every time you fire up your Drill Press/buffer it sounds like the '66 Batmobile going to turbine! =) I love that thing! Awesome job! Will have the details tomorrow where to copy and paste this link!!!! Sweet!!!!!! Thanks!!!!! Glow in the Dark!!
I really like the glow in the dark idea! Camco had a line of glow in the dark novelty pocket knives in the 1950's. I have the "Spook" knife and the Dick Tracy knife in my collection.
That looks cool man! I've had a ton of those knives. My favorite is the 99E for ergonomics, but those are decent tools. I can almost taste the drywall dust. Ah, the memories.
I normally don't mess with those because the blade doesn't retract. I have to seriously idiot proof everything I end up handling, especially the infrequent stuff.
Curiousity Forge I've got pocket slices and leg scars and blood stains from those old fixed blades. I always go to stick my utility knife in my pocket. Lol.
Glow in the dark is a great idea! The regular 199 would have made that epoxy even more difficult, I think. Sorry it took me so long to see this video. Nice job!!
No problem! Thanks for checking it out! I think if I do something like this again I'm gonna pack the pigment in where I want it then clearcoat over it. MUCH brighter glow. Possibly easier to control as well.
No worries. Given that it was bought solely for the challenge and having it sitting where I work makes me u comfortable the casting is not a big deal. I DO wish the blade were retractable. I've had enough things land point-first on top of my foot to last the rest of my life.
I can't NOT have a blade in it. It just bothers me when a utility knife is bladeless. It's floating around the War Room waiting to take down an ever growing mountain of Amazon boxes.

What I want to know now is what's all this suspicious behavior with these vertical buffing wheels? Something horrifying is afoot.....

I bet those look cool as hell. I think I'm gonna revisit this idea on some knife scales and tool restorations in the future.

Well done my friend! Cool idea to irradiate the 199... I'd expect nothing less from you brother!
Awesome, so many different ideas.
Looks good was awesome being a part of all this.
Thanks! That was the first online challenge I decided to take on. It was fun pulling the trigger on something I wasn't sure was gonna work.
Same here. Although I had a way different approach
I have been playing with that resin. Fun stuff. Cool allen
Cool job! A thought on it next time. Bank it with making tape, fill, cure, and then draw it down to desired level
I'm thinking if I try it again on another project I'm gonna clearcoat over a backfill of just the powder. MUCH more dense and brighter glow

Glow in the dark would have really come in handy in a lot of job sites I've worked in.
Cool looking knife. Great idea with the glow in the dark.
Wow, i hadnt thought of the glow in the dark. Great look, great job.
Great idea!!!! Good job!!
I like the glow in the dark epoxy idea, very cool. Cheers
Thanks! Part of me still thinks it's 1996 so glowing in the dark is very important.
Cool! 👍
Very cool Allan!
I may end up trying it out again in the future if I think of a better way to realize what I had in my head for it.
Clever concept. Try that on other stuff. So you don't loose stuff at Coffee's. Lol
I AM kinda wondering about doing something like this to my touchmark. That'd be cool.
@@drstrangefart exactly
Great idea!
Hey man. That's still cool!
Yay first

Nice try. Too bad about the casting.

It's the reason I did't do one. It would just hang on the wall with no blade in it.
